Oksana is a doctor of medicine (Europe). She has a background as a former orthopedic surgeon, with 18 years of experience in performing orthopedic and trauma surgeries, as well as administering pain blocks and injections for neurological and orthopedic conditions.

Oksana's accumulated medical knowledge and experience served as a solid foundation for her transition to Osteopathy in 2018. She graduated with honors from the Southern Ontario College of Osteopathy in Mississauga. During her study, Oksana conducted research and wrote a thesis on osteopathic treatments for hip joint pain due to osteoarthritis.

In her osteopathic practice, Oksana specializes in helping pediatric, adult (including pregnant women), and elderly patients with neurological conditions, reducing joint pain, restoring joint mobility and muscle energy, and improving body biomechanics.
Continuously mastering a comprehensive approach to patient care, Oksana uses osteopathic, visceral, cranial techniques, and laser therapy in her practice.

Adult Patients see Oksana for a wide range of conditions including back pain, neck pain, headaches, joint and muscle pain, sleep problems, snoring, digestive problems, pelvic, hip, and leg problems, numbness in fingers or lower extremities, and general wellness.

Parents of pediatric patients often present with problems or conditions such as difficulty feeding or caring for an infant, colic, reflux, constipation, torticollis (curvature of the neck), malformed head (plagiocephaly), increased muscle tone, fluid in the middle ear (otitis media), viral infections, asthma, developmental delays, ADHD, migraines and other headaches, pain and some musculoskeletal problems.

Osteopathic medicine is based on the philosophy that all systems in the body are interconnected, and that dysfunction in one system can lead to problems in other systems. Osteopaths use gentle manual techniques to address imbalances in the body and restore its natural state of health.

One key idea in this field is that many diseases result from, or cause, problems within the body's musculoskeletal system, which includes nerves, muscles, bones, arteries, nerves, and lymphatic vessels.

Some of these problems exist from birth (consequences of cesarean section, birth dysfunctions, traumas, torticollis, hypertonicity, developmental delays, etc.). Other problems arise during adolescence or adulthood as a result of lifestyle or injuries (bowel disorders, incorrect posture, scoliosis, fast fatigue, visual impairment, flat feet, stuttering, enuresis, pain in the lower back, knees, neck; neurological diseases, osteochondrosis, arthritis, etc.)

When one organ or system in the body is not functioning properly, other systems may start to compensate for this imbalance. For example, poor posture can lead to uneven strain on the back muscles, causing them to contract on one side and stretch on the other. To compensate for these changes, the body may change its stance and movements to redistribute the load on other muscles and joints. This can lead to compensatory imbalances and additional problems such as neck pain, headaches, or hip pain. If compensation continues over a prolonged period of time, it can lead to more serious problems, as a result, the patient lives with pain, discomfort, and inner tension.

An Osteopathic Manual Practitioner (OMP) takes a holistic, whole-body approach to healthcare, aims to harmonize body biomechanics and restore its natural state of health, strengthen the body's immune system and increase its resistance to disease, reduce the strain on compensatory mechanisms, and eliminate the root cause of the problem, not just its painful projections or specific parts or symptoms.

Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) is a drug-free, non-invasive, and gentle manual therapy, it does not use HVLA techniques (“cracking”). The specialist diagnoses tense areas with the hands and, delicately, works on the deep structures of the body: soft tissues, ligaments, muscles and bones, and even the brain.

OMP can even treat children, and pregnant women, and help their patients achieve optimal health of various body systems, such as the nervous, musculoskeletal, respiratory, digestive, cardiovascular, lymphatic, and endocrine systems.

During your treatment, you will remain fully clothed so we ask that you wear loose clothing that is easy to move in (please no dresses or skirts).
