There are moments in our work that remind us exactly why we do what we do.

Held & Herd was one of those moments.

For years, I have dreamed of creating a space where people could step away from the noise of everyday life and be supported in putting down some of the weight they have been carrying. A space where healing wasn't about fixing, forcing, or striving—but about listening, reconnecting, and simply being present.

Last week, together with Amber Denis of Equi-Soul, we brought that vision to life.

Throughout the day, we witnessed moments of curiosity, connection, awareness, and raw emotion. The horses met each participant exactly where they were, offering their own unique wisdom and presence. As participants moved between Equine-Assisted Learning and Myofascial Release Therapy, something beautiful began to unfold.

It exceeded my expectations.

I left feeling deeply grateful—for the participants who trusted us, for Amber and her incredible herd, and for the reminder that when we create the right environment, people often discover exactly what they need.

Our next Held & Herd experiences are now open:

Thank you to everyone who helped make our first Held & Herd experience so special. We can't wait to do it again. 💜

At Fascial Connections, some of the most meaningful feedback we receive comes from the individuals who have trusted us with their care.

While we cannot share therapist names, we can share the experiences, progress, and outcomes that our clients have generously chosen to leave behind.

Every body has a story.

These reviews reflect moments of change, hope, healing, and possibility through the care and services offered at Fascial Connections.

We are grateful to each person who has taken the time to share their experience and allow others to see what may be possible when the body is given the space and support it needs.

💙 Thank you for being part of our community.

This resonated with me.

One of the most important lessons I’ve learned over the years is that healing isn’t something we force. The body doesn’t let go because we demand it to. It lets go when it feels safe enough to no longer hold on.

The most profound changes I witness are rarely the most dramatic. More often they happen in the quiet moments—a deeper breath, a softening of tension, a nervous system that begins to trust.

Force creates resistance.

Safety creates release. 💜

This message felt particularly timely after seeing some recent videos circulating online showing very intense treatment approaches.

💜 The Body Must Feel Safe Before It Can Let Go

One of the biggest misconceptions in healing is that more pressure creates better results.

It doesn’t.

The body is designed to protect itself. When tissues feel threatened, they don’t relax—they brace.

This is especially true with sensitive areas like the pterygoid muscles, which have deep connections to the jaw, nervous system, and protective patterns stored throughout the body.

John F. Barnes, PT taught that you cannot force tissue to release.

You can only create the conditions that allow it to release.

When tissue is pushed, jammed, or forced, the nervous system often perceives danger and responds with more guarding.

When the body feels safe, something remarkable happens:

✨ Breathing deepens✨ Muscles soften✨ Fascial restrictions begin to unwind✨ The nervous system shifts toward regulation✨ The body’s natural healing mechanisms emerge

Healing is not about overpowering the body.

Healing is about listening.

It’s about patience.

It’s about presence.

It’s about creating enough safety that the body no longer needs to hold on.

Force creates resistance.

Safety creates release.

💜 The body already knows how to heal. Our job is to listen.

One year ago today, our morning began like any other.

Then, around 6 a.m., we learned there had been a fire in our building.

What followed was a year of uncertainty, problem-solving, rebuilding, adapting, and learning to navigate challenges we never expected to face.

There were moments when the road ahead felt overwhelming. There were days when progress felt slow. There were times when we had to trust that we would eventually find our way back home.

Today, I find myself reflecting not on the fire itself, but on the people who helped carry us through it.

To our patients who followed us through temporary spaces, adjusted schedules, offered encouragement, and continued to place their trust in us—thank you.

To the practitioners, colleagues, friends, family, and community members who supported us along the way—thank you.

The past year has reminded me that resilience isn’t about never struggling. It’s about continuing to move forward, even when the path isn’t clear.

Fascial Connections is still here because of the people who believed in it, supported it, and helped it grow through one of the most challenging chapters in its history.

For that, I am deeply grateful.

When we think about breast health, it's easy to focus on a single diagnosis, symptom, or stage of life.

But the body doesn't work in parts.

Breast health is influenced by fascia, movement, fluid flow, hormones, and the nervous system. What happens in one area can influence how the surrounding system moves, adapts, and responds.

Over the next few weeks, we'll be exploring some of the many experiences that can shape breast health, including:

• Feeding and breastfeeding support
• Breast cancer care support
• Dense and tender tissue
• Surgical recovery and healing

Because breast health isn't one story.

It's personal.
It's interconnected.
And it deserves compassionate support.

Follow along as we explore each of these topics in more depth over the coming weeks.

✨ A Moment to Pause ✨

The goal isn't to do more.

It's to listen better.

We live in a world that often encourages us to push through, work harder, and keep going.

Yet sometimes the most meaningful changes happen when we pause long enough to listen.

To listen to what our body is telling us.

To notice where we are holding tension.

To recognize when we need rest, support, movement, connection, or space.

A gentle reminder as we begin a new week.
