🌿 Zumbani: The Jungle Plant That Saved European Lives in Precolonial Africa 🌍
Before the days of modern medicine, when European explorers ventured deep into the heart of precolonial Africa, many were completely unprepared for the harsh realities of the environment — especially deadly fevers, infections, and tropical diseases.
What saved many of them?
A humble but powerful African wild herb: Zumbani (Lippia javanica), also known as Fever Tree or Lemon Bush.
Known across southern Africa, Zumbani is a fragrant plant often brewed as a healing tea, burned as a medicinal smoke, or used in steam baths. Rich in natural compounds with antiviral, antimicrobial, and fever-reducing properties, it was used by local communities for centuries to treat malaria-like fevers, colds, coughs, and wounds.
When European explorers began falling ill and dying in large numbers, it wasn’t quinine that helped them first — it was local knowledge. African herbalists shared Zumbani tea and other remedies, saving lives with traditional plant wisdom that’s only now being recognized by science.
🔥 Over decades, researchers have examined its extraordinary antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial effects, how it is effective against malaria, fevers, arthritis, pneumonia and many more.
🌱 Zumbani isn’t just a plant. It’s a symbol of ancestral knowledge, of resilience, and of the healing power of nature.

I’m Usually Skeptical of Herbal Products — This Changed My Mind
I’ve seen plenty of wellness trends come and go, so I’m not easily convinced. What stood out about jungle teas was the history — and the fact that there’s real, publicly available lab research behind these plants. Zumbani doesn’t feel like hype. It feels solid, intentional, and worth trusting

I’d Never Even Heard of Zumbani… Until Now
I came across a wild-foraged African jungle tea I’d never heard of before — and decided to give it a try. I’ve been drinking Zumbani consistently, and this season just feels different for me. It’s easy to brew, completely natural, and the taste alone makes it stand out. This doesn’t feel trendy — it feels rare.

Why I Started Looking Beyond the Doctor’s Office.
Healthcare is expensive, food quality isn’t what it used to be, and I wanted something simple I could feel good about using every day. Discovering Zumbani — and seeing the real lab research behind it — gave me the confidence to try something different. Add the unique taste, and it’s become part of my regular routine.

Snow Outside. Marange Inside.

It’s freezing in Ontario, everything’s covered in snow, and winter bugs are throwing a party.
So naturally… I brought Marange tea outside to remind them who’s boss.

Cold weather + germs vs a deep red, antimicrobial jungle tea.
Not scientific peer review — just good instincts, warm hands, and fewer sniffles. ❄️🍵

🇺🇸 Important Update for Our U.S. Customers

(But There’s Hope!)

Due to the new U.S. tariff changes, small purchases now fall under the de minimis rule — which means a 35% tariff may apply to Jungle Tea orders shipped to the United States. We know this isn’t great news, and we’re just as disappointed.

But we’re not giving up. 🌱
We’ll be working hard to offset these extra costs through discounts, promotions, bundle deals, and anything else we can do to keep prices fair. And we’re hopeful this situation will improve in the future.

Thank you for sticking with us — your support means everything. 💛
