Lyme Disease symptoms such as a flu-like feeling, fatigue, swollen lymph nodes, temperature disregulation (alternating hot and cold), headaches, nausea, irritability & joint pain are all very familiar to Chinese Medicine.

In our system of holistic health, these are indicators that there is a lingering problem & the body is trying to fight it off. When the body has enough resources, it can indeed clear the problem. But when there aren’t enough basic resources, the issue can go on for years.

Our unique approach to addressing symptoms associated with Lyme Disease involves helping to provide your body with deep resources to clear the problem, while addressing the symptoms that affect your daily life directly.

We would like to help get you feeling better, naturally & thoroughly. We offer free 15 minute consultations so we can both learn more about your health concerns and how we may help. Follow the link in our bio today!

Liver Lifestyle Part 3/3

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, everything is connected, so how we feel in relationships is actually part of our health.

Stress is a huge burden on our health & when things don’t feel harmonious in our relationships, it’s emotionally stressful.

One way to keep our Livers healthful is to Say The Thing. Acknowledge when things don’t feel quite right. No shame, no blame. Just acknowledge it. That gives it a little space to breathe. A little space to have a talk to sync up again. Or to listen to each other to learn how your relationship might feel better.

This goes for intimate relationships, relationships with family members, work relationships & friendships.

For the sake of your Liver, say the thing. Because keeping things bottled up and un-acknowledged further frustrates the Liver, and you may notice yourself snapping at little things that are typically not that big of a deal.

People are complicated. Say the thing. Your health will thank you.

The goal is always connection, collaboration & living more authentically & harmoniously. This is how we approach working with our patients. If you are ready to collaborate on your healthcare goals, we would love to work with you!

Liver Lifestyle Part 2/3

As we mentioned, something as simple as moving your body can help your Liver feel better. Dietary tweaks can also help move your Liver.

Some great foods to help support the Liver include broccoli, beets, lemon, artichokes, asparagus, grapefruit, carrots & lean, grass-fed beef.

The flavour associated with the Liver is sour, so anything really sour is going to help support your Liver function. The easiest thing? Drink warm lemon water.

Here’s a snapshot of how you can incorporate Liver foods into your life through each meal of the day:

Breakfast: Warm lemon water first thing in the morning & a spring greens omelette.

Lunch: A delicious salad with beets, pistachios, grapefruit, avocado & quinoa. Happy, Happy Liver!

Dinner: A stir fry with broccoli, beef, some orange zest, fresh ginger & a little oyster sauce, accompanied by white rice. Easy, peasy. Happy Liver!

If you want some support in helping to get your Liver in a better place, reach out for a free 15 minute consultation in person or virtual.

Liver Lifestyle Part 1/3

The Liver is such an important organ in Traditional Chinese Medicine & can be influenced by simple lifestyle and dietary tweaks.

Movement is one way to radically support the Liver. Here are our favourite things to do to recalibrate our Livers with movement in the Spring:

- Tai Chi

- Qi Gong

- Yoga

- Dancing while you cook

- Biking

- Walking outside while the sun is rising

When we move in this way, we feel refreshed, invigorated & creative. Because moving your Liver is a little like vacuuming your house, or doing the dishes. It clears things up!

Hot flashes don’t have to be a hallmark of middle age. They are a symptom that the body is out of harmony.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, we figure out what’s causing your hot flashes (as there are multiple reasons people have hot flashes.). That way, we can harmonize your body instead of the one-size-fits-all approach.

Hot flashes can be related to hormones, they can be related to your gall bladder or your thyroid or a lingering virus or your kidneys. We understand them as a “flare,” and that’s just what they feel like!

We have a whole toolbox to help you with your hot flashes. Follow the link in our bio to schedule an appointment today!
