Grief is universal, but how we express it is entirely unique. On June 29 (12:00 PM - 3:30 PM ET), Rev. Stephen Garrett will facilitate a CHPCA Learning Institute session — The Seven Languages of Sorrow: We All Grieve Differently.

This interactive workshop will help clinicians and interdisciplinary care providers recognize, understand, and work with different styles of grieving, starting with identifying your own. Do not miss this opportunity to enhance your practice.

Pallium Canada CEO Jeffrey Moat and CHPCA Interim CEO Cheryl Spencer met with MP Michael Cooper last Friday to discuss the need for sustainable palliative care funding. Thank you, MP Cooper, for your time and continued commitment to healthcare access across Canada.

June is National Indigenous History Month. As we reflect on the profound histories and enduring strength of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples, CHPCA and ACP Canada are reaffirming our commitment to reconciliation in healthcare.

We believe high-quality hospice and palliative care must be rooted in cultural safety, humility, and deep respect for diverse traditions. Reconciliation goes beyond this month of reflection. It must be an ongoing, daily practice of listening, learning, and collaborating to dismantle barriers to compassionate end-of-life care.

Join us in honouring . Together, let’s work toward an equitable healthcare system for all. . . . .

It's National AccessAbility Week, and this year’s theme is "Building a Strong, Accessible Canada."

CHPCA is proud to celebrate the individuals, caregivers, and organizations who are driving meaningful change for persons with disabilities in the healthcare sector. Every action moves us forward, dismantles barriers, and ensures dignity in care for all Canadians.

Palliative care is about much more than the end of life. It is about enhancing quality of life, preserving dignity, and providing compassionate support to residents and their families.

That is why the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association is proud to stand with Pallium Canada in calling for a National Palliative Care Training Standard for Long-Term Care. Together, we can strengthen workforce training and elevate care across Canada’s long-term care sector.
