We're alive and kickin' over at Allie MacAlister Illustration and will be hosting a character design live stream this evening! I hope you'll join in! :)

It's happening! You guys have been requesting both evening + narrated streams, so I'm trying one out this evening! TONIGHT!

Join me as I narrate through my process of character design using Clip Studio Paint Pro and my Wacom Cintiq tablet. I'll show you some of the neat tools at my disposal as I create a character from sketch to colour.

The stream will be narrated and will also have some music. There is a live chat feature where you are welcome to ask me questions in real time, or otherwise engage in the experience.

Quick n' dirty preview of six of the twelve new pet greeting card designs! These first six will debut next week on Etsy and on April 29th locally at the Blooming Local Craft Market- by Freewheeling Craft at Makerspace North.

Well, all good things must... move elsewhere. Please read! :)

When I began AlliePets officially in 2009 as a pet portrait business, I never imagined that it would grow to the degree that it did. Before I knew it, I was juggling the extensive amount of work I was getting with my existing job, doing large expos and conventions, and eventually... it grew into a full-time job.

Except by that time, it wasn't all about pets anymore. In fact, it was about a lot of different things all at once! Thus, I re-branded myself for that crowd and began my new catch-all illustration landing.

Fast forward to now, almost exactly three years later. I'm a full-time professional illustrator, as well as a high-profile handmade maker both locally and on Etsy. I'm blown away by how a little pet portrait side business has grown into all of this, my full-time gig.

What is there to say but thank you? My fans here are the reason my work became what it did, and the reason I can do what I love all day, every day. So. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Hello everyone! Miss me? :)

Well, locals can visit me tomorrow! Come on out to the Bell Sensplex in Kanata from 10am - 4pm for an incredible array of over 70 vendors. Admission is $2 with portion of proceeds going to Harmony House.

Hey folks!

I'm back, and though I haven't immediately been working on any pet portraits, I've been busy as a bee!

Our next craft show is already happening THIS SATURDAY, June 11th at Bell Sensplex in Kanata! I will be vending as "Allie MacAlister Illustration" just like my Etsy shop.

I'll have my usual fare of pet-centric products, as well as the new kawaii bags, memo pads, buttons, amigurumi cacti and octopi, AND my comics and colouring books!

Hi folks!

As of tomorrow, I am ON VACATION until the beginning of June!

It was with a sunken heart today that I made the decision to say goodbye to Barrett the ferret. He was very old, and had been ill for some time. Today he was ready to go.

He started his life in a research facility, and wound up filling my life with happiness for six awesome years. He was also my last ferret - so ends an era of stolen socks, dooky noises, and mischievousness - but it was all worthwhile and I have many wonderful memories of my four carpet sharks.

RIP, Experiment #654. I'm gonna miss you so much little buddy. Our house seems a little more empty today.
