Helping guide the journey from adolescence to adulthood for individuals with autism.

Launch into Life! workshops provide caregivers and professionals support in creating an individualized transition plan for teenagers, and are an opportunity to develop goals, learn about community resources, and connect with others.

Workshop participants are provided with valuable information about the following topics:

• Understanding and preparing for key transitions across the lifespan
• Managing health and mental health issues in autism
• Navigating the change from pediatric to adult health and support care systems
• Finding the right social and recreational programs in the community
• Creating a shared vision for the future
• Developing life and vocational skills
• Exploring volunteer and work opportunities
• Understanding housing and supportive programming options in adulthood
• Legal and financial issues including guardianship and program funding

Every day our team works with neurodiverse children, a vulnerable population that deserves care and compassion. On the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we recognized all of the Indigenous children who never received the care they deserved. With reconciliation in mind, we will continue to support and empower the children of our community to be proud of who they are in the face of adversity. Every child matters.

The role of the behaviour interventionist is to provide one-on-one clinical skills instruction and behaviour reduction protocols to children and youth with autism and/or related developmental disabilities.

This is a part-time, contract position and we are looking for individuals who are available to work in the evenings and some weekends.
