So big announcement - I'm retiring!

Saturday, October 24th, 2020 will be my last day at as the piercer.
-
This was a hard decision, and something I have been putting off, but it is something I need to do. I have already started a really exciting new position at MAX Ottawa as the Harm Reduction Programs Coordinator and I couldn't be more happy with the new position.

It has been a pleasure and an honour to work alongside such great artists and staff and been a part of the Living Colour family these past 3 years. Also a big thank you to my wonderful clients. You are part of the reason this decision was so difficult.

My last few weeks will be by appointment only and as I will potentially be working with a vulnerable population and for risk management, I will not be doing any piercings/jewelry changes under the mask before my final day (unless the COVID situation changes drastically). I apologize for any inconvenience this causes, but it's just what I feel is best for me.

So we are going to be offering ear piercing and jewelry changes once again starting Saturday. It is still by appointment only and all the rest of our COVID procedures are still in place.

Custom order jewelry will no longer be available. If you want to see what we have available, I'm always happy to show you, but we will not be able to order anything.

We are going to start rebooking at the shop starting Friday. We are going to start with everyone who had their appointment canceled in March and once everyone has been contacted we will be taking on new clients.

For piercing, you can fill out the request form or call in to book starting Friday, June 12 at 10am. Since the shop will only be open for booking clients the earliest appointment for me will be Friday, June 19, 2020.

Piercings, jewelry changes and installations will all be BY APPOINTMENT ONLY and must be booked at least the day before, since I will only be in shop if I have appointments booked in order to keep the number of people in the shop as low as possible.

The shops hours also changed (which was scheduled to take place as of April 1st) so we are now open 10am to 6PM Monday to Saturday, and 11am to 6PM Sunday. I will only be booking appointments Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Because of COVID-19 restrictions, I will not be able to perform any new piercings or jewelry changes or installations on the face, including eyebrows, septums, nostrils, lips and tongue. Unfortunately, this will be the case until we hear a loosening of restrictions from the government.

Please also see my last post as there are changes to the shop procedures (coming alone, wearing masks, etc) that you should know before booking in.

There is so much changing right now, but the changes are our attempt to minimize the risk of spreading COVID-19 while resuming business.

Our staff will be getting together on Wednesday to go over all the things needed to prepare for our official reopening.

Please be patient with us as we begin the rebooking process.

Priority scheduling will go to those who had appointments booked and were cancelled on due to the closures. Please do not contact us until you recieve and email or phone call from us. Things are going to be a bit crazy.

Once you do recieve an email or phone call please respond as soon as you can to ensure we get you booked back in as quickly as possible.

Once clients have been rebooked we will update our social media and begin taking new clients again. Please keep your eyes open, as each artist will have their own timeline.

A note for piercings specifically: we will not be able to offer any piercings on the face including eyebrow, nose, or mouth piercings, until we are given different instructions from the government.

The following rules will be set in place:

1. Come alone to your appointment. No friends, family or visitors during your appointment. No exceptions. The front doors will be locked to ensure the safety of both clients and artists. You will be required to wait outside until we text you that we are ready. (This may interfere with piercees under 16, as you will need to be able to come alone and sign for yourself)

2. A mask will be provided to you upon your arrival. You will be required to wear the mask at all times during your appointment. No exceptions.

3. You will be required to sanitize your hands as soon as you enter the shop at the designated station.

4. Make sure you eat prior to your appointment, as no snacks or food will be allowed during your appointment. Please bring a water bottle with you.

5. IF YOU HAVE ANY COLD OR FLU-LIKE SYMPTOMS PLEASE RESCHEDULE.

We reserve the right to deny entry to anyone who we feel is not following the protocols set in place. There are no exceptions to these rules, as they are in place to keep everyone safe, healthy and happy ❤

As businesses across Ontario and Canada work to help reduce the spread of COVID-19, we at Living Colour Tattoo Studio will be doing our part by temporarily closing the studio until further notice.

We feel it is the best and safest decision for our staff and clients.
We will continue to assess our options as the situation progresses and will of course keep you informed of any changes to our shop availability on all of our social media outlets.

We apologize for the inconvenience that this will cause, but it is a decision made out of love during this difficult time, and we appreciate your understanding.

As we are unsure of the duration of this closure, we will be cancelling appointments until Sunday, and at that point in time we will be reevaluating the status of our closure.

I wanted to use more dangerous and deadly animals for these prints. Just because they aren't cute and cuddly, doesn't mean they don't need help during this crisis. All life on earth is special and has a place in the ecosystem regardless of whether or not we can pet them.

Check out this piercing with a flat disk instead of a bead! I think it sits perfectly against the ear for a simple, but dynamic look.⠀
