From Alberta’s experience with expanded prescribing to new approaches to technology and automation, today’s afternoon sessions at the Canada–U.S. Pharmacy Forum have explored opportunities to improve patient access and advance care.

We’ve also heard lessons from the U.S. on pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) and discussed what it will take to sustainably fund expanded pharmacy services.

Lots of valuable insights and ideas to take forward as we continue working to strengthen pharmacy care on both sides of the border!

A great morning of discussion at the Canada–U.S. Pharmacy Forum in Toronto!

So far, we’ve heard from leaders across the sector on expanding access to care through , pharmacist-led primary care, sustainable service models, patient-centred care and the future of the pharmacy workforce.

Now, the conversation turns to medicine access, with CPhA Chair Deb Saltmarche joining a panel exploring how evolving policies in Canada and the U.S. could affect medicine supply, pharmacy practice and patients on both sides of the border.
