Just an update. I’m almost 4 months post op from full ACL reconstruction. My hamstring was used as the graph.

I have to say I get super frustrated because I am not able to do all the things that I love. 💕
I’m still not going on big walks. So forget about hikes, gardening, tennis or pickleball….
However- I CAN ride my bike outdoors for 30 minutes on a flat stretch. Any takers want to join me? lol. 😆
I am having to learn how to go up and down stairs normally which is very difficult right now.

I am “ close” to doing a single leg press on the machine without any added weight! 🤦‍♀️

But I watch these videos to remind myself.

9 to 12 months to get back to the things I love to do …. It just takes longer than a typical surgery to heal. But without the surgery, I wouldn’t have healed, and I’d be waiting for a knee replacement instead.

So.
Focusing on the things I CAN do! Working on strength, but won’t overdo it and cause setbacks.

So deep breaths……. 🧘 “patience” 😑

Excited to teach a SPIN class again tomorrow morning!
I’m not 💯 , I’ll be modifying, but I’ve got the approval from my Surgeon!
Can’t wait to get back in the saddle and groove to the music with you all!

Happy May 1st!

I wanted to start this month on a happier note! So what did I do? I went to the OS YMCA of course!
So wonderful to see so many gym friends! I miss the community / gym love!💕

Managed 30 minutes on the bike and a bit of flexion exercises, followed my strength training!

Never missing a workout day since my physiotherapist threw me out of her nest 2 weeks ago.

She told me I know what to do….just do it. So I certainly haven’t missed a day! I take working out as a PRIORITY and PRIVILEGE since my ACL ski injury/ reconstruction. Missed it so much.

Hoping to be back teaching SPIN soon! 🤗💕🙏🏻

Good morning!

I just had to share the proper use of the leg press machine as I see so many people locking out their knees at full extension.
This is only putting you at risk for joint issues . ( something I take very seriously 😉)
It’s time under tension using muscle contraction, not your joints that will give you the best results without injury.

I found this perfect example from Girl Gym and had to share!
