What the Premier is doing by funding private corporations to provide health care is very complex. We are sharing a response to a recent post. It is sure to give you insight.

Ontario Health Coalition.... In real life, where they have privatized (such as cataract surgeries) the private clinics are being funded by the province at a higher rate than public hospitals per surgery.-- 20% more. ON TOP of that, they are illegally extra billing patients, which violates the Commitment to the Future of Medicare Act. Some outright and flagrantly extra bill. Some lie to patients about the length of wait lists (they are not long) in public hospitals to convince them to pay to jump the queue. Also completely illegal. Some manipulate patients into believing they will have poor outcomes if they don't pay for extra eye measurement tests, lenses etc etc. Let me be 100% clear. They are not giving full informed consent and telling people these are medically unnecessary add ons. Not at all. We have documented this thoroughly. It is what is happening. In public hospitals there is oversight. In private clinics, greed rules and the Ford govt won't enforce the law any more than it enforces the law against for-profit LTC companies.

There is an astounding similarity of what this experienced school trustee says about education and what we know about healthcare. Premier Ford is determined to privatize both at all costs. The same situation arises where the rich people get the service and the lower income people are left struggling. Historically both systems are believed to be world reknowned! With adequate funding they can continue to be improved. Have a listen and tell us if you see the pattern.
