It was a heartfelt and joyful moment for the widows supported by KCSE, who gratefully received chickens to help provide fresh eggs each day.
This act of kindness and compassion truly restores dignity, rekindles hope, and nurtures a genuine sense of community and belonging, transforming resources into nourishment and happiness.

To all our donors, sponsors, and the board, we sincerely thank you for recognizing this urgent need and taking meaningful action.

"The Rev. Caleb Twinamatsiko, his wife, Hope Asiimwe, and their children moved to the Parish of Pennfield six and-a-half years ago, where Caleb is the rector. But in doing so, they left Caleb’s 99-year-old widowed mother behind.

Not long after arriving, Caleb had a crisis of conscience, and he believed he’d made a terrible mistake. That led to a visit back home, where Caleb recognized his mother’s physical needs, and used what he’d learned from visiting the elderly in their homes and in nursing homes here, to make her home more liveable.

“I put a toilet in. I put ramps around the house and railings around the house,” said Caleb. “I had people walk her around and people to get her meals. And I invited older women to come in and have tea with her.”

With his [now late] mother squared away, he and Hope began thinking of the many other widows in similar situations with no one to help care for them.

That was the beginning of KCSE [the Kigando Community Support for the Elderly] ..."

An afternoon of friendship, food, and fun was on tap, this past weekend, when a seaworthy group from Christ Church Pennfield sailed to Grand Manan to share their ministry of music. Despite a delay at the dock, and a bit of rough water, the group sang their way into the hearts of many, both on the ferry (with an impromptu sing along)and on the Island.
Graciously greeted by Rev. David Smith and his congregation, the minstrels performed a number of favourite songs, and a group of youth, from the parish of Grand Manan, delighted the audience with a play depicting the life of Daniel.
Of course, Island hospitality continued after the performances, when everyone was treated to a lovely buffet style meal. As if that wasn’t enough, a beautifully decorated cake was presented to Rev. Caleb, along with a very generous donation to KCSE (a group that helps elderly widows in Africa).
A general consensus would agree that “A good time was had by all!”

Dear friends, Board members, donors and wellwishers, KCSE beneficiaries extend their deepest gratitude to you all.
Your generosity is not just financial support, it is a lifeline, a source of dignity, hope, and comfort to those who are often forgotten, and because of you, now feel seen, loved, and valued.
Your support brings more than just food - it brings joy, faith, and a renewed sense of purpose.
Together, we continue this mission with God at the center and love as our guide.
We would like to share good news about Kasabiiti Elivanice (79years old) who has been experiencing symptoms of Peptic Ulcers for quite a while that eventually caused her an infection. It was an excruciating experience but thanks to the KCSE support, she received a timely treatment. Her condition has steadily improved and she is now up and about. She is continuing to make every effort to maintain a healthy lifestyle and attend regular check-ups.
This was only possible because of support from all of you, friends which facilitated a timely diagnosis and proper medical care.
Once again, thank you all and May God richly bless each one of you.

Part of our vacation was to reach out to the elderly widows of Kigando Community Support for Ederly Women(KCSE).
The Elderly widows, who have faced immense challenges in their lives, were overwhelmed with joy and gratitude as they received donations of food, clothing, toiletries, and other essential items

A Message of hope and support from community Leaders emphasized the importance of supporting vulnerable members of the community, particularly elderly women who have lost their spouses.
The widows, who were visibly moved by the outpouring of support, expressed their deepest gratitude to the organizers, sponsors, and donors. "We are so grateful for this kindness," said one widow. "It's a reminder that we are not alone, and that there are good people in this world who care about us.
