I would have to concur on this article. I would say a good 75% of saddles are visibly twisted or crooked.
The older the saddle, the higher the likelihood of distortion & often the same way from saddle to saddle.
Remember, equilateral handling, mounting, saddling, etc. is good for horse, saddle & rider!

Recently, a saddle mapping was done, which clearly shows saddle bridging.
In this single frame, the horse was in the middle of a left hand turn.

Oddly enough, horses often hollow their backs to avoid the discomfort, increasing the bridge degree & adding to the extreme pressure on the loins and scapula.

Western Saddle rigging locations. Though many saddle styles have rigging position based on the style, the rigging position should be based on the saddle fit to the horse.
