We would like to take this time to thank you all for your kind messages and your offers of support. The outpour we have received from you all has just shown all the lives Curtis has touched.

We have been asked a lot about charities to donate to or if there will be a service. A Celebration of Life is being planned and we will put out a post of charities you can donate to in the near future.

Dear Clients,

As many of you know Curtis has been a big advocate for Mental Health Awareness due to his own personal struggles. He has battled depression and bi-polar disorder for over 20 years. It is with a heavy heart that I let you all know that he passed away this past weekend.

Curtis tattooed thousands during his 16 year career. What some of you don’t know is that Curtis was his biggest critic, in every tattoo he saw what he could have done differently. He worked so hard to give everyone a tattoo they would be proud to wear forever. And worked tirelessly to build For The Love Of Ink into the successful business it is. I know this loss will be felt by many.

He will be forever missed, and will always live on in our hearts.

We are now open! - Currently due to the backlog of appointments we will not be taking any new appointment requests until August 1st to give us time to rebook everyone affected by the shutdown. However, we are currently taking piercing appointments.

Reopening Update - With the new restrictions put into place yesterday, we will be closed until July 7th (in a best case scenario). All messages and phone calls will not be responded too until the lockdown is lifted and we will then begin rebooking all affected clients in order of previously booked appointments.

We apologize for any inconvenience. However, this is out of our control and we are equally disappointed with these restrictions.

As per today’s announcement, we will be shut down for at least the next 28 days starting April 3rd. All scheduled appointments will be contacted over the next week for rebooking.

Now Booking Piercings - We have caught up with our backlog of piercings and are now taking new appointments.

We will be opening this Friday (Feb. 19th). However, due to the massive backlog of appointments which is in excess of 5+ month, we will not be accepting any new tattoo appointment requests until further notice. This includes consultations and quoting.

In addition at this time all piercing services will be suspended until
the piercing backlog is cleared. This will take approximately 2-3 weeks and we will post an announcement once we are accepting piercing appointments again.

I regret to inform my clients that I will be shutting down the shop until the New Year. This is truly in the best interests of my clients as I am currently not able to offer the quality of work I am known for. This shutdown is needed for my own mental health. Every year I do a fund raiser for “Mental Health & Su***de Awareness”. I have suddenly realized if I don’t practice what I preach, the message is meaningless.

I know this is very disappointing for my booked clients and I deeply apologize. However, I must put my own health before providing a non-essential service or even income. I hope my clients can understand this. Shawnee will contact every client affected with rebooking options or to process a full refund of your deposit.

I hope this post will make other’s aware of their own mental health needs and the importance of self care.
