It's National AccessAbility Week - May 31 to June 6

National AccessAbility Week is a period to examine and discuss the barriers that may be present in society for those with disabilities and discuss how we can reduce or remove those barriers.

Community Care Peterborough offers multiple services that can help those with disabilities in many aspects of their life. For example, with our Brokered Home Help and Maintenance programs we can connect clients with people who can help with tasks like yard maintenance or minor repairs. Through charitable gaming, funds raised are helping support our vital programs and services for seniors and adults with disabilities – like Meals on Wheels, Transportation, Hospital to Home programs, Telephone Reassurance Calls, and more.

Come out to the entertaining “Spring Winds” concert by Peterborough New Horizons Concert Bands on Friday, May 29 at 7:00pm at Living Hope Church (1 Consumers Place, Peterborough).

We're so grateful that a portion of the proceeds will be shared with Community Care Peterborough. 😊 Thank you to the Peterborough New Horizons Bands!

The concert features the Green, Jubilee, Skylark, and Odyssey Concert Bands.

Nonperishable food donations are being collected for the Kawartha Food Share.

May 19 is PSW Day! This day was first declared in 2010 by the Ontario Government as a way to honour the vital role Personal Support Workers (PSWs) have in our province.

We’re so grateful today, and every day, for the compassion and essential care that our PSWs provide to clients. Thank you to each of our PSWs, Art, Jen, Kathy, Michelle, Penny, and Wendy, for your dedication. This video shares why each is proud to be a PSW, in their own words. 💙

We're so grateful to the Kawartha Quiltmakers' Guild and to local quilter, Helen Blaskievich, for generously donating the beautiful quilt. ☺️
