A new hobby always has a background story, so here is Inner’s “fuel you inner flame”. Inner Candle Company started up pretty quick, as partners we decided we needed a new hobby to keep us busy. Inner Candle Company is run by both myself Makenna Laughlin (owner of Pure Essence Spa) and Denis Douglas (beekeeper). The name came pretty quick, as we looked at why we wanted to sell candles, Inner “fuel
your inner flame” was just the perfect name to have, as running my spa is all about the wellness of a person. Running a spa was defiantly a perfect opportunity for us to start our company, what is a better alternative to 100% pure beeswax candles? When we starting this company we talked about how important our health is and how many take it for granted, not looking at everyday purchases that contain tons of additives and chemicals. With the both being natural product lovers we couldn’t resist the chance to help make a change in someone else’s life. Denis Douglas, the beekeeper started this hobby buzzing and we had to come up with ways on how this amazing idea could really work, with both of us working fulltime at both our jobs. This hobby of ours slowly but surely came into full swing with the high demand of people wanting candles. In all of our free time and any second we get, we find ourselves making up small batches of candles, so that each order that goes out or is purchased is the freshest it could possibly be. Denis takes care of the bee management, and products, along with shredding wax and manufacturing of candles, and I take care of more sales, orders, and manufacturing of candles. We make it work! We have a very basic set up station consisting of a couple of pots, measuring cups, and molds. They say the more simple it is the more quality time is spent on the products. Denis takes care of the bees all year long, and does the process of honey and wax. A tip he always wants to share with everyone is, the color of the wax is important: the different shades of yellow are dependent on what the bees are forging on some may be darker, as some may be very white; but all that matters is that it is fresh, and 100% pure. All of our beeswax is locally sourced, and we are located in the heart of Bailieboro/Cavan. The main reason we wanted to start such a small business was because we appreciate local, we love local, and we also love wellness, so when we began this journey we knew it was the right fit. Not only do we get quality time doing what we love together, we also get to help people choose the healthier option for themselves and their loved ones by making the switch from a chemical candle to a 100% beeswax natural candle and who doesn’t love the smell of honey? We have started with a small selection because when there is too many choices we over buy, or skip it; having only a few options makes it easier to choose what is the best candle for you. All of our candles are made in Bailiboro/Cavan which means you are able to place orders, or pick up at Pure Essence Spa in Cavan. We really do love what we do and want to share these amazing 100% beeswax candles everyone.
