Today, we honor every kind of mother and every kind of mothering love — the moms celebrating with their children, the ones carrying loss, the women missing their mothers, the mothers missing their babies, stepmoms, bonus moms, adoptive moms, grandmothers, and those who nurture and love without a title.

For some, today is joyful. For others, it’s tender.
