Join photographer Tami Cook for a hands on photography workshop. Learn how to take better photos using your smartphone!

You’ll discover how to:
📷 Spot a good photo versus a bad photo
☀️ Use colour and light effectively
🌸 Explore the theme of a photo
✨ Experiment with filters and time lapse photography
📱 Practise taking photos with guidance

This October, CPD is marking National Disability Employment Awareness Month with At Work. In Their Own Words, a four-part series sharing local stories about employment, disability and inclusion.

We’re starting with Hayley Hodges, client and family experience lead at Five Counties Children's Centre, pictured here with her service dog, Rocket. 💚

Hayley’s career has included roles supporting children and youth, along with advocacy work in her community. While building her career, she also encountered ableism and questions about how her disability might affect her work. Today, she works with children and families to help them share their voices and make informed decisions about their care.

“I wanted to be hired for my abilities and potential, not because an employer viewed accommodating me as too costly or hiring me as a charitable act,” she says.

That message is at the heart of this series. People with disabilities want the same opportunities to contribute, grow and be recognized for what they bring to the workplace. 💯

Online voting begins October 5, with advance and Election Day in-person voting also available. The City of Peterborough is also offering specialized accessible voting equipment at City Hall on select dates. 📅

If you have an accessibility need, take some time before you vote to learn about the options and supports available to you. 🦾
