🎉 What an incredible weekend at the 5th Annual Capable Con!

On behalf of the Council for Persons with Disabilities, thank you to everyone who attended, exhibited, volunteered, sponsored, presented, and supported this year's event. Together, we celebrated inclusion, accessibility, innovation, and the incredible talents and contributions of people with disabilities throughout our community.

Capable Con continues to grow because of the passion and dedication of our community partners, vendors, advocates, and attendees who believe in creating a more accessible and inclusive future for all.

A special thank you to our volunteers, organizing committee, exhibitors, and community supporters whose hard work made this event possible. We are grateful to everyone who helped make our 5th anniversary event such a tremendous success.

The conversations, connections, and opportunities created this weekend will continue long after the event has ended.

Thank you for helping us prove once again that disability does not define potential.

See you at Capable Con 2027! ♿💙

The Council for Persons with Disabilities (CPD) is celebrating the fifth anniversary of Capable Con to build understanding around accessibility and create opportunities for community connection in Peterborough TODAY at Quaker Foods City Square.

Held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the event is held during the final weekend of National Accessibility Awareness Week. The day brings together community members, families, advocates, and local organizations to focus on accessibility, inclusion and awareness.

The free community event will feature interactive activities, accessibility experiences, adaptive recreation demonstrations, local exhibitors, live performances, family activities, community resources and opportunities to connect with organizations from across the region.

“Over the past five years, Capable Con has become an important community event that brings people together to learn more about accessibility, inclusion and the experiences of people with disabilities,” said Cody McIntyre, Chair of the Council for Persons with Disabilities. “Hosting the event during National Accessibility Awareness Week makes this milestone even more meaningful. We look forward to welcoming the community back for another year of learning, connection and celebration.”
