Sneak peek of Wednesday’s market: lots of local corn on the cob, sweet potatoes, zucchini and cherry tomatoes, fresh lettuce and more. We’ll have lots of fruits like clementines, oranges, bananas and citrus. Ordering opens Wednesday at 12pm-3pm for pickup or delivery. Shop in person at PELC 3-5pm in Picton. Thank you to those that preordered! Reminder you can always order ahead on the weekends to make sure you get what you want.

Can you believe August is just flying by? We are knee deep into corn season and we've got lots of local sweet corn from Hagerman's, as well as zucchini and greens. Spinach fatayer are back, they're a delicious hand pie filled with tangy spinach filling, made by Taste of Hama. They make a great packed lunch! From Fiddlehead Farm we've got mini sweet potatoes and salad sized tomatoes. Lots of our regular staples are on the table this week including two types of potatoes, and lots of fruit. Order online on our website (www.pecfreshgoodfoodmarket.com) Wednesday 12-3pm for pickup and delivery, and for Picton customers, you can also shop in person 3-5pm at PELC. Don't forget, if you have friends or neighbours that aren't online, they can call us and leave their order at 613-476-1811 extension 108.

News Release: New youth-led canteen officially opens at Picton Skate Park

🌟The County of Prince Edward is celebrating the opening of a new youth-led canteen at the Picton Skate Park, located at the Prince Edward County Fairgrounds.

🌟Greater Than County Youth Collective, a local non-profit organization, is operating the canteen in partnership with the Prince Edward Learning Centre (PELC).

🌟While the canteen has been operating since July 14, its official opening will take place on Friday, August 7.

🌟The canteen offers healthy food for park visitors and gives youth opportunities to gain work experience and develop leadership skills.

🌟The canteen is open seasonally and will operate 10 am – 4 pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday through October 2026.
