Bio-Agtive Emissions Farming

Bio-Agtive Emissions Farming Bio-Agtive™ is the on/off switch to your farm’s carbon flow! Restores the ecological function in soils and reduces 100% dependence on synthetic inputs!

Captures and treats carbons from emissions into a biologically active carbon input for soil and crops. Bio-Agtive™ Emissions Technology (BAET) was first developed by Mr. Gary Lewis, the innovator and owner of N/C Quest Inc in Alberta, Canada. The first development of the Bio-Agtive™ Emissions Technology started in the early 2000 by studying and applying the science of plant physiology on his farm

near Pincher Creek, Alberta, Canada (Olin Creek). The Bio-Agtive™ Technology is the application of many different studies of plant physiology, soil chemistry and most recently nano-carbon by only using internal combustion engines. These studies back up the theory of using internal combustion engines for mineral nutrition, biological stimulation, seed treatments, foliar nutritional and fungal applications, nano-carbon tube production, organic matter and additives for composting. With further experimentation in 2001, Bio-Agtive™ developed its Irrigation Method and patent. After many more years of work done on evolving from the Irrigation, a second patent developed by 2005 was experimented on a JD8970 during spring seeding with oats and barley (below). The process showed positive results and soon the company N/C Quest Inc was formed to collaborate with like minded individuals all over the world to help agriculture increase:

FARM ECONOMICS . FOOD SECURITY . EMISSION REDUCTION AND ENERGY CONSUMPTION . RESPONSIBLE FARMING PRACTICES

In 2008, N/C Quest Pty Ltd was formed in Australia to help support and collaborate with the early adopters in NSW, SA and WA. Many technological problems and issues became apparent with Australian collaborators that where not present with Canadian collaborators. Improvements on systems and applications by early 2012 where done with the new BA 8010 Series. There are roughly 30 Australia wide collaborators in the 2017 season using and developing BAET together with an increase of consistent users adopting the technology each year who are taking the technology usage beyond the paddock. The 6th generation Bio-Agtive Fusion Tank has been engineered to process oxidized emissions from combustion of any fuel source and be installed onto all makes and models of agricultural equipment.

The Fusion Tank system exists for one purpose: to deliver biologically active carbon to the soil at the precise moment biology can use it. The tractor serves as existing infrastructure, providing energy, mobility, and precision delivery. Bio-Agtive does not require a new vehicle, additional field passes, or a separate operation. The Fusion Tank is the enabling platform that captures carbon, conditions it into a usable biological form, maintains its activity, and delivers it to the soil.

Liquid delivery is essential because soil biology operates within water films and pathways. Delivering carbon in liquid form promotes even distribution, direct biological contact, rapid response, and consistent field coverage. The objective is not dilution, but accessibility, keeping carbon available in a form that microbes and plants can interact with when conditions are right.

The system is designed for precision without unnecessary complexity. It integrates with existing equipment, normal operating speeds, and standard field workflows, allowing the tractor to work as it normally would while simultaneously performing a biological function. Most importantly, biological timing is built into the operation: carbon is delivered during active field work when soil is open, moisture is present, roots are nearby, and microbial communities are ready to respond. The result is a reliable delivery system that puts biologically active carbon where it is needed, when it can be used.

Modern synthetic NPKS agriculture cannot meet the nutritional and environmental demands of a ten-billion-person world. It already has the potential of failing under its own weight.

This is not a critique of our fathers or grandfathers. They used the tools available to them. But reliance on synthetic nitrogen has created soil degradation, declining organic carbon, and increasing dependency, regardless of how carefully those inputs are managed.

The central belief holding agriculture back is the idea that fertility must be added synthetically. That belief blinds us to carbon; the true driver of photosynthesis, biology, and soil regeneration.

Leading With Carbon

Soil health is not linear. It cannot be solved by turning input dials.

For over 20 years, Olin Creek Ranch in southern Alberta Canada has operated without synthetic fertilizer. The soil has not been mined. Nutrients have increased. pH is balanced. Zinc, selenium, and micronutrients continue to rise.

Why?

Because 98% of what we harvest is not soil.

Grain, hay, beef. 98% comes from air and water. Carbon dioxide and hydrogen. Wind and rain. Fire and sun. Only 2–3% comes from the earth itself.

We are not mining soil, we are harvesting sunlight.

Protein is nitrogen, but nitrogen follows carbon. Biology converts atmospheric nitrogen only when photosynthesis is strong enough. When we lead with nitrogen, carbon shuts down, decreasing photosynthesis. When we lead with carbon, nitrogen follows.

Ammonium vs. Nitrate

This is where everything changed.

Ammonium is positively charged. Nitrate is negatively charged. That difference controls plant physiology.

Ammonium drives chloride uptake. Chloride dwarfs plants, weakens cells, attracts insects, and acidifies soil. Synthetic nitrogen feeds chemistry, not biology. Making the plant physiology more negatively charged. Less Cations, more Anions.

When nitrogen is unavailable in the soil, the seed has no choice—it must connect to the microbiome. Bio-Agtive™ applies that missing microbiome through processing combustion engine carbons and alters the plant physiology to a more Cation plant, with positive charge. Photosynthesis accelerates. Roots grow fast. Plants feed on more sugars into the soil and a bigger microbiome develops in our soils to sustain itself.

Nitrogen comes from the air.

Seventy-eight percent of the atmosphere is nitrogen. Biology knows how to use it, if carbon flow into the soil at higher rates is present, feeding the nitrogen fixing bacteria energy so they can perform their job.

It is so fascinating how nano carbons from combustion engines can be used for crop performance!

By driving photosynthesis, we are driving the carbon cycle.

If we drive the carbon cycle, we can drive the nitrogen cycle, the water cycle, the phosphorus cycle and so forth.

If we drive the nitrogen cycle, the carbon cycle takes a back seat and shuts down, inhibiting the remaining cycles including the soil microbiome.

The internal combustion engine may be the most important agricultural innovation ever created. It feeds billions. It powers every acre. And yet, we have misunderstood its role.

Emissions are not nothing.

They may be the single most important thing our soils are missing.

When left uncaptured, combustion releases roughly 1,000 pounds of material per acre into the atmosphere during seeding alone. Labeled pollution. Discarded. Lost.

Bio-Agtive™ changes that.

By capturing and processing engine emissions, we return carbon, minerals, and biology back to the landscape; at scale, affordably, on every acre, anywhere in the world.

The engine becomes a biological event for the soil.

That event restarts the carbon cycle!

Bio-Agtive utilizes a tractor-mounted Fusion Tank system that:

1. Captures carbon from engine exhaust during normal field operations

2. Converts that carbon into a biologically active liquid form

3. Inoculates and conditions the carbon for microbial use

4. Applies it precisely when soil biology is most responsive

Rather than emitting carbon into the atmosphere, Bio-Agtive reintegrates it directly into the soil-plant-microbe system, where it functions as energy, signal, and structure builder.

Bio-Agtive closes the carbon loop! It turns a loss into a loop.

Over more than 20 years of field application, Bio-Agtive Emissions Farming demonstrates that productive, profitable agriculture does not require synthetic fertilizer.

By activating biological nitrogen fixation, accelerating carbon cycling, and restoring soil food webs.

The system consistently matches or exceeds conventional yields while dramatically reducing costs, improving nutrient density, and increasing long-term resilience.

The core shift is moving from input-driven fertility to carbon-driven biological systems that unlock nutrients already present in soil, air, water, and plant residues.

Rather than venting exhaust to the atmosphere, the Bio-Agtive™ system uses controlled thermal and aqueous processes to cool, scrub, and transform emissions into a moist, nutrient-bearing, microbiologically active stream.

This treated output is then delivered through existing agricultural air and seed delivery systems, placing captured resources precisely where they can be utilized by soil biology and crops.

The Bio-Agtive™ system is designed to operate continuously, integrate seamlessly with large-scale equipment, and maintain full field functionality, allowing emissions recovery to occur as part of everyday work, not as an added task.

Bio-Agtive is not a fertilizer, additive, or amendment. It is a carbon-first biological activation system designed to restore function to agricultural soils by addressing the most limiting factor in modern farming systems: biologically available carbon.

08/03/2026

Bio-Agtive closes the carbon loop on farms by capturing carbon already being produced during routine field operations, transforming it into a biologically active form, and reintegrating it into the soil-plant system at moments when soil biology can respond most effectively.
This approach restores ecological function, reduces dependence on synthetic inputs, improves soil structure and water dynamics, and increases farm resilience, often at a fraction of the cost of conventional fertility programs.

Harnessing the combustion engine with the Bio-Agtive Method gives the horse power back to the producers by empowering their ability to efficiently and affordably generate large scale biological production through processing emissions from combustion engines that utilizes Bio-Agtives SBA Generation 6 equipment.

Bio-Agtive technology has produced the correct equipment that allows producers to produce, culture and apply this carbon rich microbiome onto any crop, soils and landscape with any type of machinery, anywhere in the world. Heat from the engine creates an endothermic reaction, producing a vapour containing the much needed microbiome that is efficiently delivered back onto the landscape during all farm operations. 100% of emissions from combustion are recycled into a carbon rich microbiome as the equipment passes over the landscape and is continuously applied onto the landscapes.

The process of delivering fuel as an hydrocarbon to the cylinder and releasing that energy under compression mimics the same event of the horse's stomach to produce its power.

As this mechanical respiration event leaves the cylinders, Bio-Agtive SBA Generation 6 equipment acts as the stomach, capturing the event and culturing the respiration into a carbon rich microbiome.

This carbon rich microbiome is delivered as a vapour, mimicking the respiration of an organism breath as its placed back into the landscape.

The Bio-Agtive process turns your engine into a mechanical living, breathing iron machine with 400 horses of power and stomachs feeding, grazing, respiration, urinating, defecating onto the landscape as the engine delivers its power and respiration events back to the ground.

It’s really through the v***r delivery mechanism of Bio-Agtive call...
