LifeWave was founded in 2002 by entrepreneur and inventor David Schmidt. Prior to LifeWave David owned a modest development company that investigated such diverse technologies as new methods for producing hydrogen and oxygen, multi-fueled, bladeless-turbine power generation systems, and metal-combustion rocket engines.

After being invited to participate in a research program for one of the Navy’s next generation mini-subs, David developed LifeWave technology, a new method for improving energy by gently stimulating the skin with light.

In 2008, David turned his attention to the up-and-coming field of stem cells, and the research team at LifeWave decided to investigate whether or not the use of pulsed electromagnetic fields could have beneficial effects on stem cell function.

Some of the research carried out at the National University of Ireland demonstrated that indeed the application of external, low frequency magnetic fields could enhance stem cell function in animals. Later research demonstrated similar efficacy in human beings, and as a result of these innovations more than 100 global patents were issued on these medical devices.

Other research investigated the use of specific wavelengths of light for the improvements in specific peptides in the body such as GHK-Cu and AHK-Cu. These peptides, first discovered by Dr. Loren Pikart, have shown improvements in independent clinical studies for the improvement in healing and stem cell function.

This field of study is known as photobiomodulation and shows great promise for the future of medicine. LifeWave hopes to one day offer an electronic device capable of elevating these peptides.

By 2018 LifeWave had been continuing it’s research into phototherapy, and the emphasis of this research was to investigate better methods for enhancing the flow of energy in the body for significantly improving athletic performance.

The result of this work was X39, a new product for gently stimulating the skin with light for enhancing the flow of energy, and improving strength, stamina, and overall athletic performance and even sleep.

Photobiomodulation therapy is defined as the utilization of non-ionizing electromagnetic energy to trigger photochemical changes within cellular structures that are receptive to photons.

WHAT IS PHOTOTHERAPY?

Phototherapy harnesses the healing power of light by reflecting infrared light from your body. Phototherapy has been used worldwide for nearly a century to treat skin conditions and so much more.

Mitochondria is particularly receptive to red and near-infrared (NIR) photons. At the cellular level, visible red and near infrared light energy are absorbed by mitochondria, which perform the function of producing cellular energy called “ATP”.

The key to this entire process is a mitochondrial enzyme called cytochrome oxidase c, a chromophore, which accepts photonic energy of specific wavelengths when functioning below par.

There are three bioenergetics pathways in photobiomodulation.

Firstly, low level visible red to near infrared light (NIR) energy is absorbed by mitochondria and converted into ATP for cellular use.

The importance of water and electrolytes!

Before telling people to add electrolytes to their water and diet please read this!

For most people, drinking a lot of electrolyte beverages daily is unnecessary and can be counterproductive. Experts recommend saving these drinks for specific situations where you lose significant fluids—such as intense exercise lasting over an hour, exposure to extreme heat, or recovering from an illness with vomiting or diarrhea.

For everyday hydration, plain water is the gold standard. Overconsuming electrolytes can cause an imbalance, leading to side effects like high blood pressure, irregular heartbeats, fatigue, and digestive issues. Furthermore, many commercial sports drinks and electrolyte mixes contain excess added sugars and calories. Instead of relying on formulated drinks, you can get all the electrolytes your body needs by maintaining a balanced diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.

I recently did blood work and my electrolytes were perfect, and I work-out and get outside and walk and break a sweat when doing so. A healthy diet has done that for me and will for most people.
