HALIFAX / BEDFORD — I’M COMING TO YOU ✨

I’m really excited to share that I’ll be travelling from Treaty 4 Territory to Nova Scotia for a guest spot at HFX Tattoo in Bedford. 🖤

As a Plains Cree-Métis tattoo artist, I’ve been on a journey of reconnecting with ancestral tattoo practices, knowledge, and relationships. For me, tattooing has become so much more than creating marks on skin. It has become a way of listening, learning, sharing, reclaiming, and building relationships.

I’m honoured to be bringing my practice to the East Coast and to create space for connection through tattooing.

While I’m in Bedford, I’ll be offering:

🖤 Machine tattooing
🖤 Hand-poked tattooing
🖤 Indigenous skin-stitch tattooing
🖤 Available flash
🖤 Custom tattoo work

I’m especially looking forward to meeting the people and communities of Halifax and Bedford, hearing your stories, and sharing space together. Every place carries its own histories, relationships, and teachings, and I believe deeply in the importance of arriving with respect, humility, and an open heart.

The tattoos we carry can hold memory, identity, connection, grief, joy, reclamation, and stories that deserve to continue living. I’m grateful for every person who trusts me to be a part of that process.

I’m coming East not only to tattoo, but to connect, share, learn, and build relationships. 🖤

📩 To book or inquire, DM me at **.geannarae**

I can’t wait to share space with you.

I am still carrying the gratitude of Merritt, B.C. with me. 🤍

There are some gatherings you attend, and there are others you feel in your bones.

Thank you to everyone who worked tirelessly to welcome, accommodate, and care for the people, community, visitors, and artists who came together. The level of care, intention, generosity, and attention to the needs of others was something I have not experienced in many places. It was deeply felt.

To all of the incredible women tattoo practitioners who welcomed me so warmly, shared space with me, and walked alongside me—thank you. To all of the men tattoo practitioners who stood beside us, contributed their knowledge, teachings, skills, and support—thank you.

What made this gathering so powerful was the way knowledge flowed freely and equally. There was no hierarchy in the sharing. Everyone had something to offer. Everyone had something to learn. We came together with humility, curiosity, openness, and respect.

Through our conversations, teachings, stories, laughter, and the intentions we set together, something much bigger than tattooing was taking place. We were creating connection. We were witnessing one another. We were helping to carry forward practices that colonialism worked so hard to suppress.

And to every beautiful Indigenous body that came forward as a canvas—thank you for your trust. Our work together was a true collaboration. Your bodies, your stories, your strength, and your willingness to participate in this resurgence are an important part of this living practice.

I feel so grateful to have been surrounded by so many Indigenous tattoo practitioners, artists, knowledge keepers, community members, visitors, and beautiful people who came together with such generosity and heart.

Thank you to everyone who made this gathering possible, and to everyone who continues to do the work of creating spaces where our people can reconnect, reclaim, learn, heal, and share.

I leave Merritt with a full heart, a grateful spirit, and so much to carry forward.

Until October. 🤍✨

Over the years, Batoche has become something truly special.

Together, we have been bringing tattooing back to the land—reclaiming story, relationship, vulnerability, and connection through our skin and through the stories we share.

We have witnessed milestones together: the first chin markings on a Two-Spirit person, the first skin stitch on our people on the land, and countless moments of trust, laughter, storytelling, and realizing how similar we are in so many ways.

But the true value of this work is Wahkôtowin ᐊᐧᐦᑯᐦᑐᐃᐧᐣ

It has become a buzzword in many communities, but to truly live it means more than speaking it when it is convenient, when it benefits our social media, or when it helps us get ahead.

It means **being it**.

Every day. Without ego. Without conditions. No matter who we are or what differences we may hold.

To love. To share. To care. To show up for one another without expecting something in return.

This year, I honestly wasn't sure I would make it to Batoche.

But the strong women around me—the matriarchs—came together and made sure I was cared for, had what I needed, and could get there and home. Resources were shared without hesitation. People worked together without pause. Thankyou Holly, KD, Shayla - your insight and conversations have helped so much, the Keepness family- they don't drop a ball, Tresley- such a breath of fresh air , Elissa
