Stolen Sovereignty x Geanna Rae x Globe Theatre
Geanna Rae, a Cree-Métis interdisciplinary artist, weaves sculpture, story, and memory through land-based practice.
In Stolen Sovereignty, her “rogue taxidermy” dioramas are shaped from materials gathered in relationship—through ceremony, travel, trade, and kinship. Bones, skins, and earth become more than form; they carry presence. They remember.
Bones here are not remnants, but witnesses—holding stories of life across the land, beyond what can be written or erased. They speak to belonging, to resistance, to the quiet insistence of Indigenous sovereignty.
Each miniature world becomes a living landscape—intimate, layered, and contested—where memory and displacement meet continuity.
Through careful hands and reciprocal exchange, Geanna invites us to witness: the land is not still. It lives, it holds, it testifies
