South Saskatchewan Independent Living Center Inc. The Independent Living (IL) philosophy is central to SSILC’s work.

The IL movement is based on the right of people to live with dignity in their chosen community, participate in all aspects of life, and to control and make informed decisions about their own lives. The consultation method used in every aspect of SSILC’s programming is based on the IL philosophy, and implements an asset based approach to developing both individual and community capacity.
