Fresh Citrus Mineral Drink 🍊✨

Today’s mix:
β€’ Fresh squeezed key limes
β€’ Fresh oranges
β€’ Pomegranate juice
β€’ Cold water
β€’ A pinch of mineral salt

Why add salt?
A tiny pinch of salt helps support hydration by replacing electrolytes your body loses through sweat, stress, heat, caffeine, and daily life. Combined with natural vitamin C and antioxidants from citrus and pomegranate, this becomes a simple homemade hydration drink without the artificial dyes or excess sugars found in many sports drinks.

Benefits of this blend:
β€’ Vitamin C to support immune health
β€’ Natural antioxidants from pomegranate
β€’ Minerals + hydration support
β€’ Gentle energy boost from natural fruit sugars
β€’ Helps encourage better water intake

Simple recipe:
Juice:
β€’ 2 key limes
β€’ 1 orange
β€’ Splash of pomegranate juice

Mix into:
β€’ 16–24 oz cold water
β€’ Pinch of mineral salt

Optional:
Add ice, sparkling water, or fresh mint.

Sometimes the simplest things support the body best. 🌿

Lilac Sugar 🌿

One of the easiest ways to preserve spring for your tea shelf, baking cabinet, or morning coffee ritual.

How to make it: β€’ 1 cup white sugar
β€’ ½–1 cup fresh lilac florets
β€’ Clean dry jar

Remove lilac florets from all green stems.

Gently rinse if needed and pat completely dry.

Layer sugar and lilacs in a jar.

Seal and let sit 2–7 days, shaking gently daily.

Remove flowers once the sugar becomes fragrant.

Spread sugar out briefly to dry if needed before storing.

Best ways to use lilac sugar: β€’ Stir into hot tea
β€’ Add to lemonade or iced tea
β€’ Sprinkle over berries or yogurt
β€’ Use in shortbread, muffins, or scones
β€’ Rim cocktail/mocktail glasses
β€’ Add to whipped cream or frosting

Lilac flavor is delicate, floral, and lightly sweet β€” a little goes a long way.

Tip: Use florets only. Too much green stem can make the sugar bitter.

Come work with nettles

Nettle tea is rich in minerals like iron, magnesium, calcium, and potassium, making it deeply nourishing for the body.
It may help support energy, hydration, and seasonal allergy response due to its natural anti-inflammatory compounds.

Many people use nettle to support hair, skin, hormonal balance, and overall vitality.
It also acts as a gentle herbal tonic that can support kidney function and healthy fluid balance.

Bring the simple things back.
A Chicken will eat between 80 and 300 ticks a day if they are out foraging.

The ladies didn't see the girls a bunch over the winter. So we are getting them use to them again. I like to have the chickens come out in the evening to help with tick and bug snacking!

One less chemical on us and our lawn if we let our friends join.
