I really thought I should post this, as it is a reminder of how sometimes the smallest "touches" can change someone's life or in my case today, just simply brighten their day.
I was on an online chat with the help desk chat of a well-known company, trying to resolve a URL forwarding issue. I honestly didn't think that what I was typing in my responses was anything special; I was just answering the questions from the support rep, explaining my situation, etc., while I multitasked and worked on other things.
At the end of the conversation, it was left that I had to now wait for the system to propagate and hopefully within the next 48 hours, everything should work. The rep asked if I need anything else, and I wrote, “Yes, that’s all for now. Thank you!”
What the rep responded with is in the attached image, and it really caught me off guard.
I’m guessing what they do for a living can be pretty thankless at times, and many of us can relate. Regardless, we never know what someone else is going through…especially when they are working the front line of a company or organization, trying to help customers as best they can.
It’s sad that courtesy is often so out of the norm.
We’re all human. We’re all in this together. We should do our best to be kind and patient.
