I’ll be posting about the $800 TATTOO GIFT CERTIFICATE DRAW soon! 🙀👀Keep your eyes open!!👀
With the 3 year anniversary coming up on June 1st, I thought maybe it was time to give an official introduction..
Same story I’ve told many clients when asked during sessions, however, there are many followers whom I haven’t met in person….yet. ☺️
My name is Trish Freeman (Mastrangelo) and I am the owner and artist at Rivers Edge Tattoos. I am a self taught tattoo artist located in the little town of Rivers, MB about 30 minutes out of Brandon, MB. Originally born and raised in Thompson, MB, I moved to Rivers in 2018. I have a busy family life with 4 wonderful kids, a supportive husband and a few crazy dogs. I loved the idea of raising my family in a small town with a simple, quiet life.
I didn’t have the traditional start into the tattoo industry, as most tattoo artists have a long history with art and have spent years honing their artistic skills in drawing, followed by doing an apprenticeship in a tattoo shop. I don’t have a long history of drawing, but instead have learned art through tattooing, as well as being naturally artistic.
My story is a little different. I got into tattooing as a way to feel connected to the brother I lost in 2007. My brother, Jevon, was a very good artist and dreamt of being a tattoo artist one day. So, growing up, I was good at art but just tried to find my own thing to be good at, rather than trying to be as good as him. For many years after his passing, I found it hard to show too much interest in art. However, with time, I felt the need to feel connected to him so I ordered a tattoo machine and starter supplies to start a new hobby.
So, my tattoo journey officially started at the end of 2021. When I picked up my first tattoo machine, It instantly became my passion(obsession maybe?). I spent endless hours gaining all the knowledge I could thru use of the internet, as well as trail and error on myself and my trooper of a husband. Friends and family quickly grew interest, then thru word of mouth, my schedule filled up before I knew it. Due to the intense interest and support from the community right from day one, I have had the privilege to tattoo full time in my own studio since June 2022.
My priorities are 100% health and safety and to help my clients express themselves thru beautiful tattoos. My studio is in compliance with Manitoba public health standards and I maintain a blood borne pathogens certification at all times. My goal is to work with my clients to create a beautiful piece of art to enjoy on their body for a lifetime. Clients comfort and safety is my #1 priority. I understand the vulnerability and trust it takes to get a tattoo and I strive to create a welcoming environment for my clients.
