This Friday! Let’s help celebrate our amazing community and partners Simply For Life❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
For two decades, Simply For Life located at 631 Pinewood Road, has been helping residents of Riverview and surrounding communities improve their health and wellbeing. As the business celebrates its 20th anniversary, owner Shelly reflects on the milestone with gratitude. “It’s quite an accomplishment, and it shows that this community has supported us,” she says. “The consistency of the community support and the fact that people care about their health and wellbeing is important for this generation and the generation to come.”
Over the past 20 years, the health and wellness industry has undergone significant changes. Shelly recalls a time when diet culture focused heavily on appearance rather than overall wellness. Today, she sees a different mindset. “Twenty years ago, people were more focused on how they looked versus how they felt,” she explains. “Nowadays, people want to feel good and look good too, but feeling good and living a healthy life seems to be more important.” While information about nutrition is more accessible than ever through social media, podcasts, and online resources, Shelly notes that people still need guidance to navigate the overwhelming amount of information available.
That need for personalized support is what drew Shelly to the profession. After spending 25 years in healthcare, including many years as a personal support worker, she experienced burnout from shift work while raising her family as a single mother. Her own wellness journey inspired her to become a nutritionist and eventually work with Simply For Life in Saint John, where she became known for helping women manage the challenges of perimenopause and menopause. “It’s very rewarding when a client is feeling better,” she says. Her goal is to empower women with knowledge and tools they can use to improve their health and pass on to future generations.
In 2025, Shelly and her partner Brad made the move to Riverview to be closer to his job with the Moncton Fire Department. While continuing to work virtually with clients from Saint John, Shelly missed the personal connections that came with meeting clients face-to-face. When the opportunity arose to purchase the Riverview location, it felt like the perfect fit. Today, she continues to build relationships with clients from across New Brunswick and beyond, while enjoying the strong sense of community that Riverview offers.
To celebrate 20 years in Riverview, Simply For Life will be hosting a special anniversary event during the first day of SUNFEST on Friday, June 26. The day will begin with a community wellness walk featuring nutrition discussions, followed by in-store sales, prize draws, complimentary body composition analyses, and supplement reviews. The celebration will conclude with a healthy barbecue featuring Simply For Life sausages served on buns from Oliver’s German Bakery, mango salad from Royal Thai Restaurant, and a special anniversary cake created by Skye’s the Limit. For Shelly and her team, the event is about more than marking a milestone, it’s an opportunity to celebrate the community connections that have made the last 20 years possible.
