What do our patients think?
Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) systematically capture information directly from patients receiving osteopathic care through digital questionnaires about their symptoms, function and quality of life before and after.
The National Council for Osteopathic Research based in the United Kingdom has used PROMs across multiple countries, with thousands of patients contributing data. Early findings show high levels of patient satisfaction and improvement following osteopathic care.
Listening to the patient voice strengthens the professions’ commitment to patient-centered care, quality improvement and transparent evaluation of outcomes.
In one of the European PROMs pilots:
• 97% of patients reported improvement within one week
• 84% reported major improvement or recovery after six weeks
• nearly 90% reported very high satisfaction with osteopathic care
