April 20-26
The annual World Osteopathic Healthcare Week, delivered by the Osteopathic International Alliance (OIA), starts now. The WOHW 2026 will focus on different aspects of the work of the OIA, our networks, goals and aspirations.
We strive to highlight the important contribution of osteopathic health care professionals in the delivery of safe and effective care to key strategic areas, and to address challenges, such as the needs of an ageing population, healthcare workforce shortages and societal focus on disease-driven care rather than on prevention-driven care.
The OIA was founded in 2004 as an umbrella organization for osteopathic physicians and osteopaths. The OIA is approaching 80 member organizations from all over the world. It unifies osteopathic physicians and osteopaths by supporting high standards for education and regulation globally, and establishing better professional recognition regionally, nationally, and internationally.
The OIA is the only osteopathic organization in official relations with the World Health Organization since 2018 as a part of the Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine (TCIM) unit.
