Shambhala Meditation Saint John Shambhala offers a path of meditation practice and contemplative arts oriented towards modern life. Newcomers are warmly welcomed.

Wednesday Meditation Practice
We meet Wednesday evenings from 7pm-9pm on the first floor of the Social Enterprise Hub (139 Prince Edward Street). We practice meditation together for an hour, after which there is a discussion or contemplation based on selected readings. Mindfulness

/awareness meditation is the foundation of what we do at the Shambhala Meditation Group of Saint John. Meditation is a basic practice used in many spiritual traditions. We practice shamatha meditation or "peaceful abiding" which originated from Shakyamuni Buddha 2,500 years ago. It is a practice of self-discovery rooted in the simple, but revolutionary premise that every human being has the ability to cultivate the mind's inherent stability, clarity and strength in order to be more awake and compassionate in everyday life.
