We’re so grateful for Evangelia, a grade 12 student from a local high school who chose Bobby’s Hospice for her final art project.

Inspired by a personal family connection, she created a beautiful acrylic on canvas piece titled “Everlasting Peace” and recently dropped it off in person. The artwork is soft, peaceful, and full of warmth, and it will be a meaningful addition to our space, bringing comfort and light to patients, families, and staff alike.

Thank you for sharing your talent and heart with our hospice community. We’re so honored to have your work here with us!

We started the Jamie Davis Memorial Golf Tournament to honour my dad, Jamie, and the values he lived by.

After being diagnosed with cancer, my dad often talked about how, if he made it through, he wanted to volunteer, support cancer fundraisers, and help others going through hard times. Giving back was simply who he was. Growing up, he taught us to lead with kindness, never judge a book by its cover, and always show up for others.

Although my dad never made it to Bobby’s Hospice because he became too unstable in his final days, it was somewhere he hoped to go and asked about throughout his cancer journey. The compassionate care they provide to patients and families is incredible, and they rely on fundraising from the community to continue this amazing work.

This tournament is our way of honouring Jamie’s memory, giving back, and creating meaning from loss. Thank you to everyone who supports this event and helps us continue his legacy. ❤️ - Leanne Skerry

Understanding Hospice Care: More Than End-of-Life Care

When people hear the word hospice, they often think only of the final days of life. Hospice care is about helping individuals live as fully and comfortably as possible while facing a life-limiting illness.

Hospice care focuses on:
✅ Managing pain and symptoms
✅ Providing emotional and spiritual support
✅ Supporting families and caregivers
✅ Enhancing quality of life and dignity
✅ Offering compassionate care tailored to each person's needs

Many families say they wish they had learned about hospice services sooner. Understanding the support available can help individuals and their loved ones make informed decisions and access care when they need it most.

At Bobby's Hospice, we believe that every person deserves comfort, dignity, and compassionate care throughout their journey.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to The Golden Mile Redemption Centre and The Grand Bay-Westfield Redemption Centre for their incredible support of our Bottles for Bobby’s fundraiser! ♻️💙

Through the generosity of community members who continue to place their recyclables in the Bobby’s Hospice donation bins, an amazing $60,602.40 was raised to support patient care at Bobby’s Hospice.

Our Bottles for Bobby’s program operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and this fundraiser would not be possible without the dedication of the redemption centres that collect and process the bottles for us.

We would also like to recognize Stephen and the team at Fero Waste & Recycling Inc for providing, maintaining, and upgrading the donation bins over the years. The newly refurbished bin looks incredible, and we truly appreciate the continued support and care that goes into keeping this program running smoothly.

To everyone who donates their bottles - THANK YOU! Every single bottle makes a difference, and 100% of proceeds go directly toward patient care at Bobby’s Hospice.

Together, our community is making an incredible impact. 💙

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who supported Kate’s Spring Bottle Drive in support of Bobby’s Hospice. Thanks to the generosity of family, friends, neighbours, volunteers, local businesses, and the entire Millidgeville community, an amazing $3,000 was raised during Saturday’s bottle drive!

Over the past few years, Kate’s Bottle Drives have now contributed an incredible total of $28,746 to support compassionate hospice care in our community. What an extraordinary impact.

Every bottle donated, every shared post, every flyer delivered, and every volunteer hour helped make this possible. Your kindness and support mean so much to the families we serve.

A special thank you to:
⭐ Andrew Hamburg and Signs Plus NB for their continued support and promotion of the drive

⭐ Golden Mile Redemption Centre for generously providing the trailer and ongoing partnership

⭐ All of the volunteers and community members who helped spread the word and make the event such a success

Because of supporters like you, Bobby’s Hospice can continue providing compassionate care and comfort to patients and families when they need it most.

Thank you, Millidgeville Community, for showing what community truly means. 💚♻️

Calling All Local Artists! 🫟🎨

Our Memorial Tree has become beautifully full, and we are now looking to create something new and meaningful on another wall in our Family Dining Room.

We need a mural design that would complement and tie in with our current Memorial Tree. Nature-inspired concepts and other creative ideas are welcome. The mural would need to include space for families to purchase small plaques in memory of their loved ones.

This special space would continue to honor and celebrate cherished memories while bringing comfort to families and visitors.

If this is something you would be interested in, we would love for you to stop by to see the space to discuss further. Please email Vanessa McAleer at [email protected] to schedule a time.

Submission deadline: June 15th
