I’m so pleased to be offering classes in Hummingbird Yoga’s new space at 499 Talbot Street! (Located across from Holy Angel’s Church – please use rear entrance.)
I will continue to offer Yang/Yin classes Monday and Thursday evenings (note new start time at 6:30 pm). Yang is Yoga is an active, dynamic form of yoga that emphasizes movement, strength and energy. It focuses on building muscular strength, stamina and flexibility through dynamic sequences, often flowing from one pose to the next with intention. Yin yoga is slower and more meditative giving you space to turn inward. In Yin yoga, the poses are held for a longer period (typically three to five minutes or longer) to target the connective tissues (fascia, ligaments, tendons) rather than focusing on the muscles. As a result, the asanas (poses) are more passive holds, with little muscular engagement.
I am introducing a 45-minute Yin class Mondays and Wednesdays 11:30 am - 12:15 pm. This is a great option for people looking for a nice stretch and mindfulness mid day and because it’s a slower paced class, people will easily be able to return to work without needing a shower first! This class can be done in comfortable clothes as well as workout wear.
New offerings also include a Wednesday 5:15 pm Power Flow Yoga Class and a Thursday 5:15 pm Hatha Yoga class. Power Flow Yoga is a dynamic and vigorous style of yoga than emphasizes strength, flexibility and cardiovascular fitness through a flowing sequence of poses synchronized with your breath. Hatha yoga, which is a slower pace than Power Yoga, emphasizes three main components: Asanas (poses), Pranayama (breath control) and Meditation. Hatha classes include gentle warmups, standing and balance poses, floor work with twists and forward folds and finishes with Savasana to integrate the practice. Hatha is suitable for all levels of yogis!

Drop-in rates - $20/class or buy a 10-Class Package for $175 and explore the classes to find what works best for you and your schedule! I am so excited to meet you on your mats in our new space!
