One week post-transplant update ๐Ÿ’š

Erick is doing well, and he got to come home yesterday! Yay! He went from a creatinine of 651 ๐œ‡mol/L pre-transplant to (drum roll please ๐Ÿฅ) 101 ๐œ‡mol/L one week later!

We have incredible news โ€” Erick got a kidney!

The call came in Sunday that a kidney was available. On Monday, we spent a long day at the hospital for testing and his final dialysis treatment, and we were so relieved to learn it was a good match.

In the early hours of May 5th (around 3 a.m.), Erick went into surgery and received a kidney from a deceased donor. The surgery went well, and now the recovery begins.

Even more encouraging, his creatinine levels are already improving. They were 651 on May 4th, dropped by over 100 right after surgery, and are currently at 411 and continuing to go down โ€” which is amazing news.

Thank you to everyone for the continued support, prayers, and positive thoughts. We truly appreciate it and feel it every step of the way. ๐Ÿ™
