On Saturday, June 4th, we are also honoured that our spiritual brother from Ecuador, Willak (Jorge Santillan) will join us to share his wisdom and presence during the day.
Willak, aka Jorge Santillán was born and lives in the indigenous community of Agato, Ecuador. He comes from a long line of healers and wisdom keepers of the Andean cosmovision. His mother, Rosa Santillan is a healer and midwife in the community. His father, Jose Santillan, was a musician, healer, herbalist, and leader of the community. The wisdom of the Mother Earth had been passed down through many generations, from grandparents to grandchildren, parents to children, or teacher to student.
At 13 years of age, Willak’s curiosity to understand life and its many forms took him to visit different places in the world and meet wise men and women from different cultures, and among these places is Canada. Saskatchewan is one of the provinces which still holds the wisdom of the indigenous people and the rich culture in the cities which has strengthened the teachings of my parents and helped me continue on this path of the Yachaks (wisdom-holder, healer, sometimes called ‘shaman’).
