These terms of use establish guidelines and expectations for members of the public to engage the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) in social media dialogue responsibly. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 immediately. The SHA in no way verifies or confirms the accuracy of user comments. Comments that violate these terms of use may result in deletion of the comment and blocking of the user to prevent further inappropriate comments. Commenting
Saskatchewan Health Authority welcomes comments from the public and expect that conversations will be respectful. We reserve the right to edit or remove any comments that are:
• obscene, defamatory, threatening, harassing, racist, sexist, homophobic, slanderous, insulting, life-threatening, discriminatory, or hateful;
• serious, unproven, unsupported, or inaccurate accusations against individuals or organizations including the SHA;
• abusive, aggressive, coarse, explicit, vulgar, violent, obscene, or pornographic;
• personal attacks and/or defamatory statements;
• encourage or suggest illegal activity;
• disrespectful of the privacy of others;
• solicitations, advertisements, or endorsements of any financial, commercial or non-governmental agency;
• repetitive posts copied and pasted by one or multiple users;
• unintelligible or irrelevant messages;
• posted anonymously or by robot accounts, or not sent by the author; and
• too far off-topic; and
• any other message the SHA believes is inappropriate or does not add to the conversation. Users who continually act contrary to these terms of reference will be warned and may be temporarily or permanently banned from SHA’s social media channels. Please note:
• While we will do our best to respond to questions posted, we cannot guarantee that we will provide a response.
• Questions about personal medical issues should be directed to your family physician or other health care professional, and should not be shared on social media. The SHA will not respond to questions or comments about personal medical issues on social media channels..

The Regina Urgent Care Centre (UCC) will have reduced hours on Saturday, June 6, operating from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and it will be closed on Sunday, June 7.

The UCC will return to its regular hours of operation of 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Monday, June 8. These service adjustments are due to physician availability and to proactively ensure the availability of services for our patients. A major milestone has been reached for health care in northern Saskatchewan.

Construction of the new Prince Albert Victoria Hospital acute care tower is now 50 per cent complete and remains on schedule.

Once complete, the expanded facility will increase patient capacity by approximately 40 per cent and bring enhanced, modernized care closer to home for residents across Prince Albert and the North.

As the evacuation order for the Rural Municipality of Shellbrook has now been lifted, today (June 2) the Saskatchewan Health Authority has commenced the process of returning patients & long-term care residents to the Parkland Integrated Health Centre in Shellbrook.

As normal service delivery returns, the SHA would like to thank all the fire fighters for their hard work as well as the community and other partners for their ongoing support, including the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency, the Town and RM of Shellbrook, local SHA teams, Emergency Medical Services, and many others who were instrumental in supporting the safe and coordinated transfer of patients and residents.

After 30 years as a paramedic, Derek Lamb found himself on the other side of a life-threatening emergency in 2024, waking in the middle of the night with crushing chest pain.

Thanks to a collaboration between Cardiology at Royal University Hospital and Medavie Health Services West, patients who call 911 with a suspected heart attack can now bypass the emergency department and get life-saving treatment faster.

From supporting children with vision development to helping patients manage double vision and other eye conditions, they work to improve quality of life through specialized care.

Evacuation of Patients and Residents from Parkland Integrated Health Centre in Shellbrook

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is working closely with the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA), and community partners to immediately and safely evacuate 20 acute care patients and 33 long-term care residents from the Parkland Integrated Health Centre in Shellbrook as a pre-emptive action due to risks from wildfires.

As of 10:00 PM, Parkland Integrated Health Centre remains open to anyone who requires emergency care. If a mandatory evacuation of the community of Shellbrook is ordered, emergency services at the Parkland Integrated Health Centre will close. Emergency services will be available at Prince Albert Victoria Hospital.
