Alicia may have saved a toddlers life at our clinic last week. While I was providing a treatment in my office a distressed mother came through our front door and explained that her daughter was having trouble breathing. Our receptionist, Alicia, ran to the mother’s car, assessed the 2 year old girl as having an anaphylactic reaction, released her from her car seat and carried the girl into the clinic. I opened my office door to find Alicia in the IV room drawing up epinephrine - at the correct dose. The poor girls face looked like a red balloon. Her mother was distraught. I called 911. 60 seconds after the injection the girl looked like a normal sweaty kid. The mother held Alicia’s arm and said “I think you just saved my baby’s life” Paramedics arrived with 5 minutes and the clinic was suddenly very very quiet. I’m glad we have a paramedic on our team! Alicia, our employee of the month -again! We appreciate all you do Alicia! ✨
