Last night was one of those nights that people don’t see and that I normally don’t talk about.

I was so bloated from fluid that laying down made it hard to breathe. I just couldn’t get comfy, couldn’t get into a position I could breathe easily in. Every position felt wrong. And on top of that, the anxiety kicks that panicked feeling where your chest tightens and your mind starts racing. I had to get up, walk around, and try to calm myself down just to get through it.

This is the reality of living with kidney disease and being on dialysis.

It’s not just the treatments people hear about. It’s the sleepless nights. The discomfort. The moments where your own body feels like it’s working against you. The quiet battles that happen behind closed doors and in your mind.

A lot of this journey is invisible.

But I’m still here. Still fighting. Still holding on to hope that one day, I’ll get the call for a transplant and nights like this will be behind me.

Until then, this is my reality.

And this is why kidney donation matters more than people realize

Waiting for a kidney is one thing… but waiting for a potential call, a potential donor… that’s a whole different kind of anxiety.

Your phone becomes everything.
Every ring makes your heart race.
Every unknown number feels like it could be the moment your life changes forever.

You let yourself hope…
You picture life after dialysis… freedom… a fresh start.
But at the same time, you hold back
because you know it might not happen.
People see the waiting but they don’t see the emotional rollercoaster of “maybe.”

It’s been so long now that sometimes I don’t even remember what life felt like before dialysis.
Days, months, years… they all start to blend together.

But I hold on to the hope that one day, everything will change.
Words can’t describe how amazing it would be to finally have my life back — to feel free again, to live without being tied to a machine.

A kidney transplant wouldn’t just change my life… it would give me a second chance at living it.

💚 Green Shirt Day – Saskatchewan 💚

Today, on Green Shirt Day, we come together across Saskatchewan and all of Canada to honor the legacy of Logan Boulet and to raise awareness for organ and tissue donation.

Wearing green is more than just a gesture — it’s a powerful reminder that one donor can save up to 8 lives and improve many more. It’s about kindness, compassion, and giving the ultimate gift: a second chance at life.

💚 But awareness isn’t enough — we need action.

Right now, so many people are waiting for a life-saving kidney transplant. For those of us on dialysis, life can feel like it’s on pause… waiting, hoping, and praying for that call that could change everything.

Living kidney donors are especially needed. You don’t have to be a perfect match — programs like paired exchange mean you can still save a life.

✨ Imagine being the reason someone gets to live fully again.
✨ Imagine giving someone more time with their family.

💙 Looking for a Living Kidney Donor 💙

For the past 7 years, I’ve been on dialysis. Three times a week, four hours at a time, my life has been on pause while I wait for a kidney transplant.

A living kidney donor could give me the chance to live again — more time with family, more freedom, and a future that isn’t tied to a dialysis machine.

Blood type B+ or O is ideal, but any blood type can still be tested through the paired exchange program.

If you’ve ever thought about becoming an organ donor, or even just want to learn more, please reach out.

Even if you can’t donate, sharing this post could help save my life.

I’m currently searching for a living kidney donor. I have been on dialysis for several years, and a transplant would give me the chance to truly live again.

If you’ve ever thought about becoming a donor, or even just want to learn more about the process, please reach out and ask questions. Even if your blood type isn’t the same, you may still be able to help through the paired exchange program.

Your share, support, or willingness to learn could help change my life.

💙 Please message me if you would like more information.

Waiting for a donor is something most people will thankfully never have to understand.

It’s waking up every day not knowing if today could be the day your life changes — or if it will be another day of waiting.

It’s living in between hope and exhaustion.
It’s planning your future… but never too far ahead.
It’s smiling in public while carrying fear in private.

After 7 years on dialysis, you don’t just wait for a transplant — you wait for a chance to live fully again. A restart. A second beginning.

Most people will never know what it feels like to wait for a life.
But you do. And your strength through it all says more than words ever could.
