Motherhood doesn’t begin at birth.
It begins in the body, and the body remembers.

For many women, pregnancy, labour, and postpartum can gently (or very suddenly) awaken past experiences… including trauma, loss, or sexual harm that may have been tucked away for years.

This is more common than we talk about.
And you are not alone in it.

Your body is not broken.
Your responses are not “too much.”
They are intelligent, protective, and worthy of care.

With the right support, birth can be more than something to “get through.”
It can be a space of healing, reclamation, and deep empowerment.

I saw a quote that said “You grow into the woman your younger self would have run to for protection.” And that was like the warmest hug I could ever receive. I think about this all the time. The pain that I’ve felt throughout various phases of my life. All the ways I haven’t been able to reach or help my baby sister, no matter how hard I tried. These moments have, without question, focussed my attention on helping other women, on healing past pain to ensure future happiness. To become the best version of myself. ❤️
