Today, we are pausing and listening with open ears, hearts, and minds, to the stories of survivors and their families as we remember those who did not come home from residential school. We recognize the deep impact residential schools had on the individuals that lived through them and the intergenerational trauma affecting their families and communities today. This week our staff will wear the orange shirt symbolizing the loss of culture, freedom, and self-esteem that many Indigenous children experienced at residential schools and reminding us that “Every Child Matters”.
