Ever wondered why we smoke our favorite plant or cook with it instead of just eating it raw? 🌿✨
This is one of my favorite things to teach beginners because once it clicks, EVERYTHING about edibles starts to make sense! 🙌
Here's the fun science behind it 👇
🌱 In its raw form, this plant doesn't actually contain THC or CBD. It contains their acidic cousins, THCA and CBDA. These are amazing for things like anti-inflammatory benefits, BUT they won't give you that classic euphoric feeling.
🔥 That's where heat comes in. The process of applying heat (whether by smoking or baking) is called decarboxylation,
a fancy word for "activating" your flower. THIS is what unlocks the THC and CBD we know and love!
Different cannabinoids activate at different temperatures, so getting this step right is KEY to your edibles actually working. Once you nail decarbing, you're basically unstoppable in the kitchen. 💚
And good news, I have a full beginner-friendly guide that walks you through every step! ✨
