FOOD FOR THOUGHT
According to 'Trend Experts', it appears that more and more the "hustle culture" of wellness is out. Viral trends have been heavily debunked and are now actively avoided, and I have to admit, I am not mad about that at all, and if I'm honest, not terribly surprised either.
For example, Wellness trends on TikTok and Instagram are pivoting toward sustainability and simplicity. You're singing my song!! Influencers are ditching extreme diets and harsh "cleanse" regimens (thank goodness!!) in favor of hormone-aligned workouts, functional nutrition, and holistic nervous system regulation. The top trends dominating right now include:
💪Hormone-Syncing Workouts: Adapting fitness routines—like low-impact Pilates and functional strength training—to fit specific phases of the menstrual cycle to boost energy and avoid burnout. Studies about this began during the pandemic when some Professional Athletes had limited access to training facilities and noticed a marked decrease in performance when they were repeating the same type of exercise too often. At the heart of it, this type of approach to exercise pays attention to the body and adapts to how it's better able to recover during certain phases of an individual's menstrual cycle.
🧐Gut Health Protocols: One of my FAVOURITE topics! Moving beyond basic probiotics to deeply personalized nutrition, with an emphasis on fermented foods and targeted fiber intake for mood and brain health. As simple as this one sounds, it has the potential to make the MOST impact!
🤪Nervous System Regulation: A surge in holistic stress management, including targeted breathwork and designated digital detoxes rather than relying solely on intense, heavy-load workouts. The differences can be noticed within a matter of days!
Now, don't get me wrong, the previous Viral Trends haven't disappeared. The content still exists on the interwebs, and the algorithm pays attention to what you search and have searched previously. BUT, I like to think we are all collectively using a bit more discernment and cranking up our BS RADAR a little more so as to not be taken in as often by the charisma.
