The Magic of the In Between 🌊

I’ve been home for three days now after ten days away, but part of me is still standing on the shoreline.

I can still smell the salt air and the Forest, hear the waves moving with the tide, and feel that deep sense of peace that comes from being fully present in a place.

There is something magical about the places where two worlds meet.

Where the St. Lawrence River slowly becomes the Ocean.
Where the Forest reaches toward the shoreline.
Where the tide is constantly reshaping the boundary between Land and Water.

These places exist in between.

They are spaces of transition, movement, and possibility.

A reminder that we don’t always need to rush toward the next thing. Sometimes the most restorative moments are found in the pause — the space between what was and what is becoming.

During our time away, we lived by the rhythm of Nature rather than the clock. We woke with the sun, slept beneath the stars, explored new places, and spent days with almost no connection to the outside world.

Slowly, something shifted.

I found myself listening more deeply.

To the tide.
To the wind.
To the stories held in stones and beach glass.
To the laughter of my family.

Perhaps that is the gift of the in between.

When we step away from the constant doing, we remember that we are not separate from Nature’s rhythms — we are part of them.

More and more people are learning about Nature therapy and would described as a wellness practice. And it is.

But I hope it never becomes the next wellness trend.

Because trends ask, “What can this do for me?” and when we reduce nature to something we use, we risk missing losing so much!

Sit Spot Club is a simple practice designed to help you pause, regulate your nervous system, and reconnect with nature — and yourself. Join Certified Nature Therapy Guide Claire Beach for a gentle, guided experience in nature inspired by the practice of Forest Bathing.

A “sit spot” is a place outdoors where we pause, notice, and simply spend time being present in nature — no experience required. Together, we’ll slow down through simple sensory invitations that help calm the mind, reduce stress, regulate the nervous system, and reconnect with the natural world.

This welcoming experience encourages relaxation, mindfulness, curiosity, and connection through the sights, sounds, textures, and rhythms of the living world around us. Research also shows that short, repeated moments of nature connection can be more impactful than occasional longer outings. This practice supports a sustainable rhythm of connection and care.

During our time together, you’ll be guided through gentle invitations to help you:

* rest your mind and body
* deepen sensory awareness
* build a meaningful relationship with nature

From wildfires and droughts to floods and food insecurity, the impacts of climate change are all around us. It’s natural to feel overwhelmed by what we’re witnessing and what it might mean for the future.

While it is important to acknowledge our fears and uncertainties, it is equally important to sit in the light.

To notice the beauty that still surrounds us.
To cherish moments of awe and wonder.
To feel the warmth of the sun, the song of a bird, the rustle of leaves, the laughter of a friend.
