🍊 Give your body a daily boost with Vitamin C!

Vitamin C is an essential nutrient that supports overall health and helps keep your body functioning at its best. Since your body can't produce it naturally, it's important to get enough through nutritious foods or supplements.

As summer heats up, climate distress can, too.

Wildfires, smoke-filled air, floods and extreme heat can affect more than our physical health. For many people, seeing, breathing and experiencing these events can contribute to feelings of worry, stress, grief and anxiety.
If climate change is affecting your mental well-being, you’re not aloneβ€”and support is available. 🀍

Learn more about coping with climate-related stress through the Canadian Mental Health Association: https://cmha.ca/news/climate-change-and-mental-health-finding-ways-to-cope

You can also talk to your family doctor or primary care provider about support.

Back to school can mean more asthma flare-ups for kids, thanks to increased exposure to viruses, allergens and other triggers. Follow these five tips to avoid what's known as the "September Spike":

βœ… book an asthma check-up for your child before school starts
βœ… get back into consistent medication routines and ensure your child always has access to their inhaler
βœ… help your child understand their asthma triggers and how to avoid them
βœ… ensure the school is aware of your child's action plan in the event of an asthma attack
βœ… keep your child home from school when they're sick

As kids and teens head back to school, they may face new social situations and peer pressure. One of the best ways to help them navigate these moments is to start the conversation early.

Here are a few ways to prepare your child:
πŸš— Have a plan. Let them know they can always call or text if they need a safe ride home.
πŸ’™ Build confidence. Remind them that it's okay to walk away from situations that don't feel right.
πŸ‘‚ Keep the conversation going. One talk isn't enough. Regular, judgment-free check-ins help build trust.

This International Youth Day, let's support young people by giving them the confidence and tools to make healthy choices at school, with friends and beyond.
