"Am I in perimenopause?" is one of the questions I hear most.

And I get it — it can be genuinely hard to know. I've even been confused by my own body, and I study this stuff.

Here are the earliest signs to watch for, and why so many women are being told it's just stress when it's actually their hormones.

Save this and share it with someone who needs to see it.

Why aren’t peptides everywhere if they are so effective?

My answer might sound cynical, but ask anyone who knows the space and they’ll agree:

Big pharma can't patent a naturally occurring molecule.

So when a natural peptide is found to work, the incentive isn't to study it and bring it to your GP's office — it's to modify it just enough to patent and sell as a drug.

That's the actual origin story of the GLP-1 medications everyone's talking about.

The peptides I use for tissue healing, pain and recovery haven’t gotten that treatment (yet). Not because the science isn't there, but because there's no profit motive behind unpatentable molecules.

That doesn't mean they're unproven. It means the system is partly built around profit.

More of peptides for pain and recovery with physiotherapist Mina Kavia in Episode 14 of the Better Beyond 40 Formula Podcast — including which peptides I like for injury and pain recovery.

You don't need to eat less to lose fat. You need a smarter approach.

Most women I work with are doing the right things — watching what they eat, doing cardio, staying disciplined. And still losing muscle in the process.

Here's what actually works for fat loss in midlife, and why the old calorie-cutting model is working against you.

Save this one. Share it with someone who's been dieting hard and not seeing results.

If you’re a woman over 40 who finishes dinner “full” but still finds yourself hunting for chocolate or a sweet treat…this is for you.

Those cravings aren’t just a lack of discipline - they’re often a sign of blood sugar swings, gut‑brain wiring that expects dessert, nutrient deficiencies, and long‑standing habits that your brain has learned to love.

In my latest blog, I unpack why this happens and how to:

    •    build meals that calm blood sugar
    •    support your gut so it stops shouting for sugar
    •    gently retrain your “dessert after every meal” loop

Head to the link in my bio to read it and start turning your cravings into useful information—not a daily battle.

The exhaustion is real. But so is the fact that you don’t actually rest.

Living in a high cortisol state keeps you wired even when you’re completely depleted.

And if this sounds familiar, you’re not alone and you’re not broken.

Here’s what I see in clients running on high cortisol all the time:

⚡ That edgy, jittery, restless feeling even when nothing is technically wrong; difficulty relaxing

😩 Exhausted at night but can’t fall asleep, or have fragmented sleep. You might wake up with your mind racing, already on your to-do list

📉 The afternoon crash — that desperate reach for sugar or caffeine just to get through

😖Brain fog: slower processing, word‑finding issues, poor focus, and short‑term memory lapses.

🔄 And then the cycle starts again

Episode 4 of my Better Beyond 40 Formula Podcast breaks this down fully — link in bio or find it wherever you listen to podcasts.

Peptides are everywhere right now, and most of what you're reading is either hype or blanket dismissal. Neither one actually helps you make a decision.

I'm joining Mina Kavia for a free live webinar this Wednesday to cut through the noise: what peptides actually are, how they work, which ones are showing real promise for pain and athletic recovery, inflammation, nerve health, and longevity, and what the research does and doesn't support.

We'll also cover the safety protocols most practitioners skip, plus how to source, store, and administer them correctly.

You go to reach overhead and your shoulder screams.

You try a deep squat and your knees protest.

You attempt a new movement and your body says: absolutely not.

And you decide you're just too tight. Too old. Too far gone.

But here's what's actually happening — your nervous system is doing exactly what it's designed to do:

If an area of your body hasn't been loaded or moved through a full range in years, your brain has lost the “map.” And when the map goes missing, the nervous system locks things down to keep you safe.

That tightness? Probably not damage but a guarding pattern. A signal that this territory is unfamiliar (not that it's off-limits forever).

We break this down with movement expert & educator Cecily Milne of Y O G A D E T O U R™️ in Episode 13 of the Better Beyond 40 Formula Podcast.

Peptides are not the first step. And most of the content online skips straight past the part that actually matters.

Before you consider any peptide protocol, honestly answer these 3 questions:

1️⃣ Are your foundations actually in place? Sleep, protein, real food, movement — not perfect, but reasonably solid. Have you done some work on stress?

2️⃣ Have your hormones and basic labs been properly reviewed? Thyroid, iron, B12, vitamin D, blood sugar, inflammation… and especially if you're in perimenopause or menopause (or MANopause!), your hormones.

3️⃣ What specific problem(s) are you trying to solve? Gut repair? Bone density? Brain fog? Immune resilience? General health & longevity? The ORDER matters.

If your foundations are solid and you can name the problems/desires — that's when peptides become precise, targeted tools.

Foundations first. Hormones next. Peptides as precision tools.

I'm always looking for hidden nutrient and mineral deficiencies in my work with midlife women, because they quietly drive so many of common symptoms:

Food cravings you can't shake. Weight that won't budge.
Fatigue, mood shifts, hair loss — and you're doing everything right.

And one of the most overlooked sources? Some very common MEDICATIONS.

SSRIs, metformin, statins, the pill — they can slowly deplete the vitamins and minerals your body depends on when taken over months and years.

Swipe to see some of what I look for — and how correcting the right deficiencies can change everything.
