Happy Mother’s Day! ☀️Today is about more than one version of motherhood.

It’s for the women who raise children.
The women who raise communities.
The women who care deeply for others while still learning to care for themselves.

It’s for the mothers, the mother figures, the hopeful mothers, the grieving mothers and the ones carrying complicated feelings today.

Mother’s Day can be beautiful, joyful, painful, healing - or all of those at once.

From all of us at the St Jacobs Naturopathic Clinic, we’re sending love to every person who gives of themselves in ways big and small.

May today meet you with kindness, wherever you are. 🌿

“Just like the earth, you are allowed to start again.”

Spring is a powerful time to reset not just physically - but mentally.

Gentle Detox Support 🍋
Your body detoxes daily - your job is to support it, not stress it.

Try this:
• Warm lemon water in the morning
• Dry brushing before showers
• Cruciferous veggies (broccoli, kale)
• Sweat (sauna, exercise, or a brisk walk)

No extremes needed - just consistency.

Hello Spring 🌿
A season of lighter days, fresh starts and gentle renewal.

Open the windows, soak up the sunshine and nourish your body with what it’s been craving all winter - fresh foods, movement and a little more time outside.

This is your reminder: you don’t need a complete reset - just small, supportive shifts.

Spring Reset 🌿
Spring is your body’s natural reset season. As the days get longer, your energy, digestion and mood can shift too.

Simple ways to support your body this spring:
• Add more leafy greens
• Get outside daily (even 10 minutes counts)
• Hydrate with lemon water
• Prioritize sleep

Your body already knows how to heal-sometimes it just needs the right support.

Bloating after meals is common… but it isn’t something your body should be dealing with every day. Your digestive system is meant to process food comfortably, not leave you feeling heavy, tight, or uncomfortable after you eat.

Often, small habits can make a big difference. Eating too quickly, drinking large amounts of fluids during meals, irregular meal timing, or swallowing excess air while eating can all contribute to bloating. Slowing down, chewing food thoroughly, and giving your body time to properly signal fullness can significantly support digestion. Consistent hydration throughout the day —>not just during meals

Feeling exhausted by 2pm every day? That afternoon energy crash isn’t always about not getting enough sleep.

One of the most common reasons is blood sugar fluctuations. If your breakfast or lunch is high in refined carbohydrates or missing enough protein and healthy fats, your blood sugar can spike and then drop quickly…leaving you feeling foggy, sluggish and reaching for caffeine or sugar to push through the rest of the day.

Stress load can also play a major role. When your body is constantly in a heightened stress state, it relies heavily on stress hormones like cortisol to keep you going. Over time, this can lead to energy dips right in the middle of the afternoon when those hormone levels naturally begin to decline.

Another overlooked factor is simply under-fuelling in the morning. Skipping breakfast, eating very little, or relying on just coffee can leave your body running on empty by early afternoon.

A few small changes can often help stabilize energy throughout the day:
• Aim for a balanced breakfast with protein, fibre and healthy fats
• Stay hydrated consistently instead of relying on caffeine
• Eat regular meals to support stable blood sugar
• Take short movement or fresh air breaks during the day

If your afternoon crash happens daily despite good sleep, it may be your body’s way of signalling that something in your nutrition, stress load, or daily rhythm needs attention.

Your energy shouldn’t disappear halfway through the day.
