It is an honour to be part of such meaningful work, to be a part of a team so dedicated to our community and to be able to share the message of recovery to those who need to hear it.
We are proud to introduce Brittany Stockley as a Peer Mentor and Advisory Board Member with Roots of Resilience. We are incredibly grateful and excited to have Brittany as part of the Roots of Resilience team.
Brittany is a mother of three, photographer, disability advocate, and Board Member with Roots of Resilience. As a person in long-term recovery, she is passionate about helping individuals and families navigate adversity with hope, connection, and resilience.
Her understanding of resilience began early in life when she entered foster care after her mother became paralyzed by a rare genetic neurological condition. Growing up through family separation, loss, and uncertainty shaped her belief in the importance of community, connection, and supportive services for children and families facing difficult circumstances.
Today, with over a decade in recovery, Brittany brings both lived experience and compassion to her role with Roots of Resilience. Her journey through addiction, recovery, chronic illness, disability, and advocacy has strengthened her commitment to helping others overcome barriers and build meaningful lives. She believes that healing happens when people are met with understanding, opportunity, and a community that refuses to give up on them.
Brittany is passionate about raising awareness of recovery, accessibility, and the challenges faced by individuals and families navigating complex systems of care.
Today, Brittany’s greatest joy comes from the life she has built in recovery. She enjoys spending time with her fiancé and three children, growing her photography business, and finding purpose in both community connection and helping others discover hope in their own journeys.
“My story began with adversity, but it did not end there. Recovery, resilience, and community taught me that our circumstances do not define our future. No matter where someone starts, hope and transformation are always possible.” - Brittany Stockley ❤️
We are so grateful for her voice, lived experience, and dedication to supporting others on their journey toward healing and hope.
