A testimonial from Marcella Nolan. I completed Margie 's "vagus nerve" series and found the material clear, practical, and well presented. Margie allows ample time for discussion and demonstrations, which makes the techniques easy to understand and apply.

I left each class with useful tools that helpemd me respond more calmly to life's daily stressors. I have no hesitation recommending the Calm, Connection, Well-Being Margie is offering this fall. Sign up soon.

Such inspiration ✨️ 💖

On July 1, 1976, Tina Turner waited until her husband, Ike Turner, fell asleep in a hotel room in Dallas.

Her face was swollen. Her body carried the marks of another assault.

But she had made a decision.

In her pocket: 36 cents and a Mobil gas card.

No money. No plan. No safety net.

Tina slipped silently out of the Statler Hilton.

Then she ran.

Across Interstate 30. Through darkness. Cars rushing past. A truck nearly struck her.

This wasn’t escape.

It was survival.

Across the highway stood a Ramada Inn. The manager recognized her, gave her a room, and placed security outside.

For three days, Tina hid there.

Her body began healing.

Her life had already changed.

Weeks later, she filed for divorce after sixteen years of marriage.

She wanted no house.

No money.

No publishing rights.

She wanted one thing.

The name.

Tina Turner.

She walked away carrying debt and facing an industry convinced she was finished.

Nearly forty. Starting again.

But Tina refused to disappear.

She embraced Nichiren Buddhism and took whatever work came—television appearances, hotel lounges, county fairs, corporate events.

Piece by piece, she rebuilt.

Then came 1984.

At 44, Tina released *Private Dancer*.

Everything changed.

The album sold millions. “What’s Love Got to Do with It” became a massive solo hit.

Then came Grammys. Live Aid. *Mad Max*. Sold-out arenas.

The woman the industry had counted out became a global superstar.

Her second act lasted decades.

More than 100 million records sold. Twelve Grammys.

And eventually, love returned.

Tina met Erwin Bach in 1986. When her kidneys later failed, he donated one of his own.

In 2023, Tina died peacefully in Switzerland at 83, with Erwin beside her.

She left more than music.

She left proof.

You can lose almost everything and still begin again.

At forty. At fifty. At any moment.

Sometimes a new life begins with nothing more than 36 cents, a gas card, and the courage to cross the road.

She didn’t wait for someone to save her.

She crossed the road and saved herself.
