Roots + Wings: Halloween Session 🌿🎃

A creative connection playshop for children and caregivers at The Lantern in St. John’s.

This Halloween-themed session is a space for families to slow down, create together, and explore imagination, expression, and connection through a shared creative experience. Children are welcome to come in costume and participate in a relaxed, playful environment where art, movement, and intuition guide the process.

Together we’ll move through a gentle guided meditation, intuitive art, gentle energy work, tarot + intuitive messages, and mini family portraits. The focus is on presence, expression, and experiencing creativity together in a way that feels open and supportive.

This session also explores the idea that we are never just one version of ourselves, and through play and imagination, children and caregivers are invited to explore the many layers of who they are.

Sunday, October 4, 2026
1:30 PM – 4:00 PM
The Lantern, St. John’s
$66 per group (up to 3 people, one canvas)

Spots are limited. Registration is open on www.raisingsagespiritual.ca or you can send a DM to myself or Meg. 🖤

This morning Sage woke up and wanted to move her body and meditate. 🥹🌸

She doesn’t usually initiate meditation herself, so this was a pretty sweet little surprise.

She’s been home the past couple days not feeling her best, but she still wanted to do a little something for herself, and I loved watching her choose movement and quiet time to start her morning.

These are the little moments that make me even more excited about Flow State Families.

I’m really looking forward to doing this series alongside Sage and giving her space to be part of it in her own way. I don’t expect her to become a tiny meditation teacher 😂. I just love the idea of creating something where kids get to explore movement, energy, mindfulness, creativity and connection alongside the grown-ups in their lives.

Because sometimes we’re so focused on teaching our kids how to take care of themselves that we forget to give them opportunities to experience what that can actually feel like.

And sometimes they remind us too. 💜

Flow State Families is a 4-week family connection & meditation series at The Lantern, beginning September 24.

We’ll move, play, connect, explore, create and finish each session with a relaxing guided meditation.

Thursdays · 6–7 PM
September 24–October 15
The Lantern

$88 for all 4 weeks or $25 for an individual session, for a family of up to 4.

Space is limited.
Registration is open on www.raisingsagespiritual.ca

It’s here. 🤍

The Life Audit: A Practical Framework for Understanding Yourself and the Life You’re Creating

This book has been a long time coming, and it feels pretty surreal to finally see it out in the world.

The Life Audit is a 167-page guided self-reflection workbook designed to help you step back from everyday life and take an honest look at the life you’re actually living.

You’ll explore different areas of your life, identify patterns and contradictions, notice what keeps asking for your attention, and step back to see the bigger picture. You’ll then create your own Personal Compass to help you decide what you want to carry forward.

One of the things that makes this book especially meaningful to me is where the framework came from.

I have my undergrad and Master’s in Sociology. My academic and research experience taught me how to ask questions, look for patterns, examine experiences within their broader context, and make meaning from what I found.

Over time, I realized I could turn those same skills inward.

The Life Audit takes that same spirit of inquiry and invites you to apply it to your own life.

What patterns are showing up?
What stories have shaped you?
What keeps asking for your attention?
What is your life showing you?

I created and designed every page, right down to the placement of the writing lines. I wanted the entire experience to be intentional.

This is a framework built from my academic background, research experience, lived experience, and my own personal work.

I believe we can become more active participants in our wellbeing by learning to notice what’s happening in our lives before we reach a breaking point.

This workbook isn’t a replacement for therapy, counselling, medical care, or professional support. It’s a tool for self-awareness.

Sometimes awareness is where change begins.

The Life Audit is officially available now on Amazon. 🤍

I’ve been thinking a lot about the way we talk about addiction, mental illness, crisis and public safety.

We tend to talk about these things once someone is already in crisis.

The overdose.

The psychosis.

The homelessness.

The family breakdown.

The moment when something has become impossible to ignore.

And yes, we need systems that can respond to those moments. People deserve safety. Families deserve support. People in crisis deserve care. Accountability matters.

But I keep wondering…

Where is the prevention?

Where are we talking about what happens before the crisis?

Before the addiction.

Before the breakdown.

Before the person becomes completely disconnected from themselves and everyone around them.

What are we doing to build emotional wellbeing, connection, belonging, resilience, healthy relationships and self-awareness throughout our lives?

What if wellness wasn’t something we reached for only after something went wrong?

What if we started much earlier?

I don’t believe we can prevent every tragedy. We can’t control everything that happens to us or to the people we love.

But I do believe there is so much we can notice earlier. So much we can tend to. So much we can learn about ourselves.

And maybe taking responsibility for our wellbeing doesn’t mean doing everything alone.

Maybe it means becoming aware enough to know when we need support, and building the relationships and communities that make it possible to ask for it.

This is something I’ve been thinking about deeply lately.

What would it look like if wellness became something we actively cultivated, rather than something we waited for a crisis to teach us?

That’s a conversation I want to keep having.

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how much of what happens between us and our kids is actually about the relationship, rather than just the behaviour we’re seeing.

Our kids come with their own personalities, needs, sensitivities, developmental differences and ways of processing the world. We can’t parent all of that away, and we shouldn’t try to. But we’re part of the picture too.

Our stress. Our expectations. Our reactions. The way we communicate. The things we’re carrying. The way we interpret what our kids are doing.

Sometimes we can get so focused on asking, “How do I get my child to stop doing this?” that we forget to ask, “What’s happening here, and what might I be contributing to this dynamic?”

And I’m including myself in that. Very much. 😂

I’ve been learning that looking at our own role isn’t about blaming ourselves for everything our kids struggle with. It’s about recognizing that we have influence.

And that’s actually pretty empowering.

Because if we’re part of the dynamic, we can also be part of changing it.

Not through guilt or perfection. Just a little more curiosity about ourselves, our kids and what’s happening between us.

What if wellness was something families could experience together? 🤍

That’s the heart of Connect.

An afternoon to move, slow down, be present, and spend meaningful time together.

Amy will guide us through accessible movement and mobility to awaken the body and bring us into the present moment. We’ll explore connection through a playful family activity, settle into a guided meditation, and close with gentle stretching to help everyone relax and feel grounded.

You don’t need to be experienced with fitness or meditation. You don’t need to be “good” at any of it. Just come ready to move, breathe, connect, and enjoy some time together.

Sunday, August 16 | 2:30 p.m. | Bowring Park
$25 per family (up to 4 people)
$5 per additional family member

Registration is required so we can prepare for numbers and send you the meeting details. You can register and pay through the website, or message us to register and arrange emt/cash.

If you’re curious, we’d love to have you there. 🌿
