Card Reveal for Sunday, August 30th. As always, take what resonates and leave what doesn’t!
Card 1 — Yin/Yang
Yin/Yang brings a message of balance, but it also asks you to recognize which kind of energy is needed right now. Yin represents the receptive side of life, things like intuition, reflection, patience, allowing and receiving. Yang represents action, movement, determination and making things happen. We need both, but we don’t always need them in equal measure at the same time.
If you chose this card, consider whether you’ve been pushing too hard in an area where you might be better served by simply allowing things to unfold. Or perhaps the opposite is true. Maybe you’ve been waiting, thinking and hoping, when what is really needed is decisive action. The key is recognizing where your energy has become out of balance.
There’s also a lovely reminder here that opposites can complement each other. Strength can coexist with softness, independence with connection, ambition with rest. You don’t have to live at either extreme. Find the rhythm between doing and allowing and trust yourself to know when it’s time to move and when it’s time to simply receive.
Card 2 — Deceit
Deceit asks you to look a little more carefully beneath the surface. Something may not be exactly as it appears, and this card encourages discernment rather than suspicion. Pay attention to inconsistencies, trust your instincts, and don’t be afraid to ask questions if something doesn’t quite add up.
This card can certainly refer to dishonesty or someone withholding information, but it doesn’t automatically mean that someone in your life is deceiving you. Sometimes the deception is much more subtle. We can deceive ourselves by ignoring what we already know, making excuses for situations that aren’t working, or convincing ourselves we’re happy with something simply because we’re afraid of what might happen if we acknowledge the truth.
If you chose this card, don’t jump to conclusions, just become more observant. Give yourself time before making important decisions, especially if you’re feeling uncertain. Truth tends to reveal itself when we’re willing to see things as they actually are rather than as we hope they will be. Trust your intuition, but allow facts to support it.
Card 3 — Appreciation
Appreciation is a beautiful reminder to notice what is already blooming in your life. It’s very easy to become focused on what hasn’t happened yet, what needs fixing, or what someone else seems to have that we don’t. This card gently redirects your attention toward the goodness that is already present.
Gratitude doesn’t mean pretending that everything is perfect. You can want more for yourself while still appreciating where you are today. Look for the people who consistently show up, the comforts you sometimes take for granted, the progress you’ve made, and the small moments that bring unexpected joy. What you appreciate doesn’t have to be extraordinary to be meaningful.
There’s also an invitation here to appreciate yourself. Recognize how far you’ve come, what you’ve survived, what you’ve learned, and the ways you’ve grown that perhaps no one else can see. You are usually much quicker to acknowledge the strengths of others instead of your own. This card asks you to change that. Take a moment to notice what’s beautiful in your life, including the person you’ve become.
