𦡠Tight Thighs or Calves? Let's Talk About Cupping Therapy!
Have you ever noticed how tight your legs feel after a long walk, a workout, or spending hours on your feet?
Your quadriceps, hamstrings, and calf muscles all contribute to walking, climbing stairs, and everyday movement.
When these muscles feel sore or restricted, even simple activities can become uncomfortable.
One of the techniques we may incorporate into treatment at Lakshma Healing Hands is cupping therapy.
πΏ What exactly is cupping?
Cupping uses gentle, adjustable suction to lift the skin and superficial tissues.
There are two common approaches:
πΉ Static cupping: Cups remain in one position for a period of time.
πΉ Dynamic cupping: Cups are gently moved across the treatment area.
Cupping may be considered as an additional technique when addressing muscular discomfort, although research into its benefits is still limited.
Did you know? Both our practitioners use cupping!

May incorporate cupping into Registered Massage Therapy alongside soft tissue treatment, stretching, and other therapeutic techniques.
π¨ββοΈ Ghassan Al-Tabba
May incorporate cupping into Osteopathic Manual Therapy when appropriate, alongside mobility assessment and other hands-on techniques.
Every treatment is individualized. Cupping is not necessary or suitable for everyone.
π‘ Will cupping leave marks?
It can! Temporary circular marks or redness may appear. Darker marks do not mean more toxins were removed or that treatment was more effective.
Curious whether cupping might be appropriate for your muscular tension?
