A little bit about me:

From a very young age I always loved helping people. Nothing felt better than knowing that I was making a difference in someone's life. At a very young age I star

ted volunteering in hospitals and knew I would be in health care. I worked with a diverse group of patients; from Bloorview children's hospital with children that are terminally ill for 4 years, to working in palliative care with seniors, to cancer patients, and then finally at Markham Stouffville helping patients with infertility. After high school, I went to Western University and graduated with a BA in Sociology. After my BA, I wanted to pursue my diploma in Massage Therapy and graduated in 2002. After working a few years as a massage therapist in a few multidisciplinary clinics I decided to go back to school in 2005 to McMaster University and study contemporary Acupuncture. I began treating my patients with acupuncture and saw the benefits and dramatic results with my patients. Patients who had sciatica for years said it was gone in 4 treatments. Patients who suffered from headaches most of their life weren't getting headaches anymore, the list was going on and on. I decided at that point to take a step further into the deep roots of Chinese medicine where acupuncture originated. I wanted to know everything about it in greater depth! Something that was making a huge difference in my patients lives and my own I wanted to master. I went back to school to the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and studied for another 4 years to understand the eastern side to treating patients from a holistic, eastern approach with herbs and acupuncture. I realized how much I believe in this way of treating my patients and my own children in a more natural holistic way that wasn't harmful to the body. I truly believe in Chinese Medicine and I feel very passionate about what I do and helping people to alleviate physical pain, mental health, infertility and overall wellbeing. I know this is my calling and my passion! I tell my patients all the time; if I won the lottery tomorrow I will still be here doing what I love! Helping people and making a difference to each and every patient that walks into my clinic! I also designed and created a product called SHENBAND! A one of kind, two removable acupressure points with an aromatherapy diffuser bracelet! Comes with; lavender/peppermint, six felt pads and a choice between black, silver, rose gold and rainbow! A promise to all my patients: I will do whatever I can to the best of my knowledge and ability to treat whatever ailment or pathology you have. I will always give you my absolute best! Some people enter your life and completely change its direction. For me, that person is Yancy.

Every day, when a patient tells me they feel better, that their pain has eased, that they feel more balanced, healthier, and able to enjoy life again, I am reminded of the incredible teacher who helped shape me into the practitioner I am today.

Yancy, thank you for sharing your knowledge, your wisdom, and your passion for Chinese Medicine with me. During the years I trained under your guidance, you taught me far more than treatment protocols and diagnosis—you taught me how to truly care for people and how to strive for excellence in this profession.

Even in retirement, your generosity has never changed. Whenever I need help, you are always there, and every time I have the privilege of being treated by you, I still find myself learning something new.

I honestly don’t know where I would be without your mentorship. The impact you’ve had on my life, my career, and the countless patients I’ve been able to help because of your teachings is immeasurable.

If I can become even half the practitioner you are, I will consider that a great achievement.

Thank you for believing in me, inspiring me, and setting the standard I continue to aspire to every day. Your legacy lives on through every patient I have the privilege to treat.

Forever grateful. 🙏❤️

HOW TO STAY UNBOTHERED IN ANY SITUATION:

1. Not everything deserves your reaction.
Silence is not a weakness... it is mastery. As The Buddha taught, anger is like gripping burning coal, hoping it hurts someone else.. while it hurts you first.
Let go, and you free yourself first.

2. Detach, don’t disconnect.
Care deeply, but don’t cling. When you stop needing outcomes to go your way, peace naturally follows. Attachment creates suffering; awareness dissolves it.

3. Observe, don’t absorb.
Not every emotion you feel belongs to you. Learn to witness situations like passing clouds. You are the sky—untouched, vast, steady.

4. Choose your inner circle wisely.
Energy is contagious. Stay around those who nourish your mind, not those who drain your soul. Protect your peace like it’s sacred—because it is.

5. Control your mind, or it will control you.
An undisciplined mind reacts. A trained mind responds. Meditation isn’t escape—it’s training for real life.

6. Let people be who they are.
You don’t have to fix, convince, or change everyone. Acceptance is freedom. Expectations are silent sources of frustration.

7. Stop taking things personally.
Most people act from their own pain, fears, and conditioning. It’s rarely about you. Understanding this dissolves unnecessary hurt.

8. Embrace impermanence.
Everything changes—good and bad. When you truly understand this, you stop overreacting to temporary storms.

9. Build a strong inner foundation.
When your self-worth comes from within, external opinions lose power. The calmer you become, the less others can shake you.

10. Respond with calm, not ego.
Your peace is more valuable than proving a point. Sometimes the most powerful response is no response.

👉 Stay unbothered... not because nothing affects you, but because nothing controls you unless you allow it.
